Ok...sexy Lewis Collins in full on, kick arse military mode, and a small, pre 'Nasir' part for Mark Ryan as 'Mac'..(.1:48 ) what more do you want!? LOL :P
The dialogue and acting are as wooden as a dead tree, but there is some reason I have always loved this film. Lewis Collins is high camp in this as well, just like the Professionals. Re James Bond, Collins said he didnt get it as Cubby Broccoli didnt like him.
Dont forget Who Dares Wins is out on Blu ray in April. Hope they have given it a proper remastering, but I doubt it.
@marcusjknight Agree entirely. Although Lewis is't the worlds finest actor (ahem!) I think he would made a superb Bond. Plenty of presence & great at playing hardmen eg Bodie CI5. Collins was interviewed by Cubby Broccili, but apparently they didn't hit it off, so he dipped out on a role as 007.
The house they used was the enterance to Pinewood studios and inside the main building a pal of mine that works there told me this was to cut down on set building costs. If there is any place you could do this it would be Pinewood.
Well that's what the "annals" say anyway. And likewise anyway after that Moore did decide to go on for a couple of more films. And only after that came the others, Dalton and Brosnan.
Brilliant! Why walk anywhere when you can just as easily dive or do a forward roll? This is proper old school British hardness and I bet it's one of Alan Partridge's favourite films.
that is the most awesome scene in the movie. i guess it is best for the commando when people think it is movie BS fantasy, but you are right it is realistic.
love this movie wish i could find it on dvd for US format
Correct. The hole in the wall is an SOP of the Boys In The Blackstuff. They also have a very interesting device that uses water presure to blow holes in walls.......Two bods dangling from a Scout helicopter is a little less realistic!! lol
...IN THE fuckin'GUTS IS WOTS HAPPENIN'. LOL class. have you got it on record??? YOU LUCKY BUGGER!!! CAUSE that wasn't the 1 from the film ,which is nowhere near long enough....[but the trumpets kick HARDER.]
loved this film ...fave when i was a wee boy...and always remember the music totally excellent ....another classic piece of british film music like " the long good friday".....thanks for posting it
Love this film have it on DVD. Remember seeing an interview with Andy McNab who said "it was shit but it was good shit". Don't agree it was shit but definately a time long forgotten when men were men, none of this metrosexual crap!
I'm SAS or nothing.

Not sure how well this film has held up, but 1/ the soundtrack is great, 2/ Lewis Collins is 100% hardcore and is totally convincing. Excellent.

I think they had a film lined up about the SAS in the Falkland Islands, but it didn't get the go ahead.

Great little compilation, nice bit of editing.
Shame Lewis didn't do more of this kind of movie.

To OctaneJunkie, Collins said [late 80s] he was sick of being typecast as the hard man character.

Lewis Collins should have taken over from Roger Moore as Bond after VTAK. They really messed up getting TD.

I like the way he drills Tony Osoba at the end!
That'll teach him for being a supporting actor!

At the risk of sounding like Alan Partridge,a film that gets better every time you watch it.

Lewis Collins was favourite to play James Bond, but it went to Timothy Dalton

Actually it went to Roger Moore as he agreed to make 2 more films. But Lew should have been a Bond...
