The dialogue and acting are as wooden as a dead tree, but there is some reason I have always loved this film. Lewis Collins is high camp in this as well, just like the Professionals. Re James Bond, Collins said he didnt get it as Cubby Broccoli didnt like him.

Dont forget Who Dares Wins is out on Blu ray in April. Hope they have given it a proper remastering, but I doubt it.

Not sure how well this film has held up, but 1/ the soundtrack is great, 2/ Lewis Collins is 100% hardcore and is totally convincing. Excellent.

@marcusjknight Agree entirely. Although Lewis is't the worlds finest actor (ahem!) I think he would made a superb Bond. Plenty of presence & great at playing hardmen eg Bodie CI5. Collins was interviewed by Cubby Broccili, but apparently they didn't hit it off, so he dipped out on a role as 007.

The house they used was the enterance to Pinewood studios and inside the main building a pal of mine that works there told me this was to cut down on set building costs. If there is any place you could do this it would be Pinewood.

that is the most awesome scene in the movie. i guess it is best for the commando when people think it is movie BS fantasy, but you are right it is realistic.

Correct. The hole in the wall is an SOP of the Boys In The Blackstuff. They also have a very interesting device that uses water presure to blow holes in walls.......Two bods dangling from a Scout helicopter is a little less realistic!! lol
