He is so wrong! The average Iranian does not give a damn about having nuclear bombs. It is the islamic mafia occupying Iran which hopelessly needs nuclear weapons in order to survive. It is pseudointellectuals such as Vali nasr and his father seyyed hossein nasr who spread this nonsense due to their sympathy toward the islamic mafia.
@Seekthetruth3000 Careful! There's a difference between nuclear ENERGY and nuclear BOMBS. You're probably right to say the average Iranian doesn't want nuclear weapons; but this doesn't mean they reject the idea of nuclear energy. All Nasr mentioned was the 'nuclear issue.' Ahmadinejad wants nukes, but his people would be proud just to have nuclear energy. The Gulf Corporation Council, for example, has talked about nuclear energy as an "Arab right".
In today’s Iran, just as throughout history, only the Persian ethnic group calls itself Persian. Irrespective of this, the Orientalist scholarship abroad still insists on calling all residents of Iran Persian, which is a clear case of epistemic violence against non-Persian communities.
@insanhaqlari - I think the term Persian is often used by those that live outside of Iran. Most Persian speaking Iranians identify themselves by the city they were born in, for instance, Shirazi, Tehrani, Kermani, etc.. In fact you'll find other ethnicity that do exactly that, i.e. refer to themselves as Kurd, Lur, Azari.
