@DanDaSimmer yes its from the scene of harry potter 2 where Lucius malfoy and dobby go see the headmaster dumbledore and harry slips his sock into the diary and Lucius takes the diary and gives it to dobby and dobby opens it by mistake and see's the sock and so on

Actually the story goes like this. Harry has Tom Riddle's diary and he takes one of his socks off and puts it in the book and gives it to Lucius Malfoy. Lucius gets angry and throws the sock in the air. Dobby catches it. Dobby was Lucius' house elf and the rules are if you give your house elf anything he's free to go. And so since he caught the sock it counts as Lucius giving the sock to Dobby and then Dobby is free which is how it's freeing dobby.
