the itouch is way better than the classics because it uses flash memory which means its faster and u dont have that annoying hard drive sound from the ipod classic and its thinner ! with the same battery life:O bigger screen i think we have a winner.

doesn't cost money unless you go to a service-sponsored hotspot like t-mobile. the only thing that costs money is buying songs from itunes, and that's ONLY if you buy the track. you can still listen to 30-second previews for free.

yes, you can brick the ipod, but you can reset the ipod by holding down the hold and the home buttons. this will unbrick it.
