  • If metallica sucks that much, Why everything they do,everything they touch, all records(& st.anger) turned to gold??? Stop compairing bands dickheads. we're supposed to be the "Audience" not the judges. btw Death magnetic & beyond magnetic are both great records.

  • Tighter than Metallicas original. And way better drumming.

  • Eldar rules!

  • Imagine Joey singing this holy crap that would be amazing

  • who's playing lead on this?

  • @BlackRoseImmortal Rob Caggiano

  • @BlackRoseImmortal Rob Caggiano

  • 2:40 muy chido

  • I know, this is a very good cover but imagine Belladonna doing this? It would rule.

  • No lesale bien como metallica

  • It almost... looks like Skrillex ripped off Antrax's logo

  • A glimpse at what could've been. John Bush was asked to sing for Metallica in the early days, but declined.

  • BAD COVER...

  • @Seni0rXchid0 How?

  • antharx only have 4 cull songs anthrax sucks

  • @eddfenix wow you don't know shit about anthrax dude, they can compete with metallica;check their first album to persistence of time and check their new album worship music-->fucking killer

  • @chocolatedead werever dud for my anthrax shed

  • @eddfenix All awesome:

    Belly of the beast

    Sabbath bloody sabbath cover

    Be all end all

    Panic

    Gung ho

    Stand or fall

    Black lodge

I could keep going, I mean come on!

  • Who used this as their entrance theme in ECW?

  • @Danfrombackhome Mike Awesome

  • The 1st metallica album is good because dave mustaine wrote it. Metallica fucking sucks unless dave mustaine wrote it. so, basically everything after kill em all.

  • @Danfrombackhome Mustaine wrote 4 songs out of 10, so how do you account for the rest of Kill 'em all being good?

  • @burlearth Even more so, James wrote all of Motorbreath which, in my opinion, is the best song on the album, if not one of their all time best. Not to mention Hit the lights, and most of Phantom lord and Seek and destroy. Pretty much all of No remorse...

  • @Danfrombackhome He didnt write the whole album. That is such a misconception. He wrote the whole of Mechanix and Jump in the fire, and had his hand in a few other songs. Explain how Hit the lights was wrote before he even knew who they were, let alone Most of Phantom lord and seek and destroy. James also wrote the whole of Motorbreath which blows a fuckin hole through anything else on Kill em all this side of Metal militia, which James had a hand in writing also.

  • DAVID MUSTAIN!

  • Comment removed

  • This is how the song would have sounded if he didn't turn down joining Metallica, slightly different with him being younger but still.

  • james forever

  • 240p??? Fuck you.

  • YEAAAAAAAH: Phantom Lord Metallica plays written by Dave Mustaine. very good version played by Anthrax

  • @666SATANMETAL666 Quit pulling shit out your ass. PL was written by James before Metallica was even formed.

  • @oreion69 Phantom Lord was written by Dave Mustaine ;)

  • @SuperDean224 Phantom Lord was written by James before they'd even gotten Dave in the band...It's made up of two riffs from a former band of his actually called Phantom Lord.

  • @Brutuzthegtamaster no it wasnt

  • @Brutuzthegtamaster

"It was primarily written by Dave Mustaine", "Hetfield's third band was called Phantom Lord". That's from the Kill 'em All page on Wikipedia. It could be wrong, but it has Mustaine credited in it in the album I know that for sure cause I have it. You can take the info I gave you and either accept it or not, but I always thought Mustaine wrote the lyrics.

  • @SuperDean224 no part of it was. he co wrote. lars and james did most of the song structuring, be just gave riffs and did solos

  • @liveandletrock864 Even more so, he really didnt write much of this song at all. "Phantom lord" was a song called "the leather army" that James wrote in an earlier band called "Phantom lord", and then simply renamed it Phantom lord when played in Metallica. Im sure it wasnt quite as fast and there were some structural changes. hey all you pimply faced retards who are just discovering metal, Mustaine did not write the whole of Kill em all!

No matter what interview from Dave you all see on youtube

  • @sepulmattica1 thank you for gaving common sense

  • @liveandletrock864 brother please... imagine if we we're in a band and you kicked me out but i wrote the majority of the songs would you really give me all the credit so i could rip you for every penny? exactly...

  • @SuperDean224 that album was mostly lars and james. cliff and dave didnt play a big role. and its funny u say that because i just left a band in which i wrote all the songs for and im using all my shit again. if dave did that with mechanix dont u think he wold have done it with other songs too? or is it because he only co wrote. james is a riff machine my friend

  • @SuperDean224 All Metallica songs were written by the gods for Metallica to play forever till they die. Mustaine aint got shit on Phantom Lord and your mom wrote kill em all

  • @SuperDean224 No it wasnt, get your facts straight.

  • @sepulmattica1 "Phantom Lord" was written about the war cry of a mythical creature. It was primarily written by Dave Mustaine. The track was included on the band's first demo, No Life 'til Leather. It is the first Metallica song to include clean melodic guitars into its structure.

The band would often dedicate this song to members of the audience who "were bumping heads and getting their heads bumped too" during their early concerts.

  • @SuperDean224 Totally lifted word for word off of Wikipedia, lol! Yeah I pretty much already knew what you stated, except that it wasn't primarily written by Mustaine. who ever stuck that in in wikipedia needs to fact check, it really needs to be edited.

  • @sepulmattica1 it wasnt on there that long ago, someone recently changed it. mustaine wrote a riff and a solo to it, thats it. the rest was mostly hetfield (as with most of metallicas work) and lars (though he only makes drum parts).

  • @SuperDean224 no...it was written by James Hetfield tributing his ex-band aka Phantom Lord...

  • @SuperDean224 the four horsemen was written by dave not phantom lord

  • @SuperDean224 No, it wasn't!

  • @immortalfastthrash Primarily...yes it was.

  • @skaryguy Primarily... it wasn't.

  • @SuperDean224 it was written by Mustaine - Hetfield - Lars read the notes in the cd cover

  • @Break1ngTh3Law no mustaine said in his biography that phantom lord was his song entirely.

  • @ttappourokolou never mind it still kick ass and it is for METAL \m/

  • @Break1ngTh3Law The riffs are most certainly Mustaine-like in sound. He's always liked those riffs that sound more like bits cut out of a solo. However, Mustaine almost never writes melodic interludes into the middle of the song - that's a pure Hetfield move. It was probably a collaboration, as most metal songs are.

But why does it matter? This is Anthrax! The best of the four!

  • @williamtrevormcneil fuck off! go listen to some gay magnetic

  • @SuperDean224 fuck yea! this guy knows his shit!

  • jhon bush is a great singer but thank you that he never was the singer of metallica sound awesome but james is james

  • Nice cover !

  • Esta chida la musica ;-)

  • Damn the guitar solo's sounds so... Dimebag-ish! I liiike! :D

  • @creblestar Thats because it is dimebag

  • @sepulmattica1 I knew that he recorded a couple songs with anthrax but i never could have the proof that he was on this track... anyways i beleive you... fkn rockin :)

  • Best version of this song.....is on the Metallica bootlegs with Dave no lie

  • good song

  • the very best version of this song is on the Kill 'em all record, nothing is better, neither playing nor vocals.

  • If it had been done with Belladona, it wouldve been more badass.

  • better playing but not vocals

  • its nice being here because there is nobody arguing about metallica or megadeth being better than the other.

  • @METALHEAD54100 Let's hope for our sakes (and metal's sake) that you didn't just jinx it.

  • This was originally available if you bought the CD single of Inside Out or if you bought the ECW: Extreme Compilations CD when it came out in 1998. You can also get it on the Tribute to the Four Horsemen album from Nuclear Blast Records.

There is nothing wrong with this cover at all. Bush + Metallica would have killed everything in their path.

  • @Northwro hetfield an metallica already do and did

  • original is soooo much better, this sucks!! :r

  • seeing anthrax and metallica along with slayer and megadeth in july at sonisphere!!!

  • why is it that all the metallica covers are never as good as the originals?

  • @purplehalfstack Dude your wrong! The cover of Creeping Death by Dark Angel is better than the orginal!

  • saw thrax do a cover of whiplash back in 2003. bush and the boys killed it! wish john was still in thrax.

  • WHOLLY SHIT THIS ROCKS

  • hu made dis song??

    metallica or anthrax??

  • @min3r3ader12 MetallicA

  • @min3r3ader12 Sometimes its easier to just look at the description before asking.

  • @min3r3ader12 Your mom

  • This is what Metallica would sond like if John Bush had accepted James Hetfield's offer to be his vocalist in Metallica back in the 80's.

  • Kill 'em all was perfect because the guitar sound and level was perfect. The engineer hit the nail on the head.

  • @SvenTviking i think lars and james did the sound mixing for kill em all, james has said that is why the drums and guitar are really loud lol.

  • @BryceIbanez17 thats and justice for all they were talking about

  • awesome, now we just need anthrax to do damage inc. and disposable heroes

  • this is a james hetfield song pal

  • Great cover but what would Dave sound like singing his own stuff?

  • @jhandeguand73 Sorry Dave mustaine is not in Anthrax, try again.

  • @GHeroandRScape no,but this is one of the songs dave wrote while he was in metallica...

  • @MrSFblack he co-wrote. he did not write half of kill em all, he along with other member provided parts of songs.

  • @liveandletrock864 i didnt say he wrote half of kill em all,i said this is one of the songs he helped write...

  • @MrSFblack actually you said this is one of the songs he wrote while in metallica

  • @liveandletrock864 same difference lol

  • @MrSFblack

In fact he did write half of Kill em all, I just finished reading his book. Also he brought Metallica to the top in the early days (ofc together, but Dave was the one playing with the fans on stage (thru the mic) and the one writing most songs when he was still in the band).

Without Dave there would be no Metallica, he brought them to the top really, he was the one with most experience in musicall business. Just sayin', I love Metallica, no fuckin'.

  • @Brutalyeah dave co-wrote 4 out of 10 songs on kill em all, last i checked thats not half.metallica weren't the most experienced musicians at the time, hell they even admit that when dave joined he was the only full fledged musician.but that was about it,make no mistake dave mustaine didnt make metallica.he was just a guy that was lucky enough to be there in the beginning n contribute to a few songs,no more no less.if anything, without metallica there would be no megadeth.

  • @MrSFblack

4 out of 10, 5 out of 10.... ''OH BRUTALYEAH YOU RETARD, THATS NO HALF!'' Dude what a comment..

Anyway, do you think that James, Lars and Ron would have been able to get famous and make a good band together without Dave? In the first place they probably wouldn't have Cliff Burton, neither Kirk Hammet in their band, because who would want to join a band with Hit the Lights and Motorbreath without any guitar solo's? Without Metallica Dave's musical career would be diffrent too indeed.

  • @Brutalyeah do the math, dave only co-wrote 4 songs on that album;metal militia, phantom lord, jump in the fire,n the four horseman.all the other songs didnt have any of his riffs n they had kirk change the solos,u can look it up if u dont believe me.to say those few songs made metallica is just silly,he wasnt even on a metallica album.dave was what made ron quit, had he stayed cliff probably would have too.dave DID NOT make metallica, but yeah without him things would probably be different.

  • @MrSFblack

.... I know everything dude. Just read his book and you'll agree with me.

  • @MrSFblack actually Cliff wouldn't quit because Cliff didn't give a shit about what anybody else thought and probably made Dave leave for being an asshole, I mean thats why James fired him

  • @LiamKalyan good point

  • @MrSFblack he made fight fire with fire, ride the lightning spider chords, and call of ktulu whole song...

  • @davemurray16 he had nothin to do wit fight fire with fire, call of ktulu n ride the lightning were the only songs on RTL that he contributed to...

  • fuck yeah man!!!!

  • Fucking great cover but a cover can't be better than the original song.

  • Oooh never heard this before! Killer stuff!

  • @metallicamberstein me either this murders!!!

  • drums are awesome

  • What's Jon Bush doing covering by a band he hated? After all, didn't Amoured Saint have some run ins w/ Metallica?

  • @CupisHomines Phil Sandoval had an altercation in 82 with Lars, Dave Mustaine got involved and broke Phil's ankle. Dave admits he felt bad about the incident, and they later made amends when Dave apologized and gave Phil an ESP guitar. Prior to that, John Bush had auditioned as Metallica's vocalist before James joined, and after Cliff died, Joey Vera was asked to replace him on bass. As I recall, members of Armoured Saint also appeared on the Metallica's Behind The Music

  • heres a band that SHOULD be covering Metallica..

    not Punk...

  • John Bush was asked to be metallica's singer back in the day but he turned them down.

Its funny how things work out.

  • with benante on the drumkit, this version definitely has a more punk beat to it.

my pal oscar and i drove home drunk one winter night listening to this song on an ice-covered road in fargo, north dakota. we were thrashing and singing along to the song and scarfing down a carry-out pizza.

    anthrax & metallica... fuckin' eh!!!

    thrash!!!

  • Drums sound good.

But James is on vox so much better.

  • Comment removed

  • This cover would be much better with Joey on vocals...

  • Turn the knife!

    You bitch ;)

  • @sisak1987 James Hetfield asked John Bush to sing for Metallica 1982, so this is what could have been if that is how it worked out

  • i like both versions, but metallica's sounds better

  • hhhmmmm james better

    but its good

  • This sounds like what the song would be like if Metallica was in the NYC scene instead of the bay area thrash.

  • Their Sanitarium cover kicked ass.

  • metallica beats anthrax on the bif four chart

    1.metallica

    2. megadeth

    3.slayer

    4.anthrax

  • this version guitar>original

    original vocals>this

Sorry but james vocals are just more metal

  • been metallica fan for long but i think this one is better

  • Mind Blowing... I love this song, and I'm not surprised that Anthrax did such a great job of covering it!

  • this version is bad!!!

    metallica version good!!!

  • @ROZANNON true dude vocals sound like a robot but they did good on the solo but metallicas sounds better

  • One of the Big 4 doing a cover for another Big!

  • yea

  • @d1m12a80 at a Big 4 show, each Big 4 member should cover another band's song like Anthrax cover Metallica. Megadeth covers Slayer (HAHA!!!). Slayer covers Megadeth, Metallica covers Anthrax. This would be fucken badass you gotta admit if they'd do this.

  • wow i never knew this band did any metallica covers. the singing isnt as bad as i thought when i saw that they did this song on wikipedia

its pretty good on every instrument but i like metallica better.

the best metallica cover ive seen yet is Motorhead - Whiplash

godly i think u should listen to it

  • They also did Sanitarium, not sure if there's others.

  • Damn John pulled this off and the Drums Charlie did good, to bad the Guitars are to weak.

  • it's good but the sound..I don't know..the original just had a better sound. Raspier in the production. Made it sound a bit better I think.

  • well, i think it's simply becasue its the original production, as to where this is a metallica type song, constructionwise, but preformed with the Anthrax style. I'm more a Megadeth/Anthrax fan, but i really like both versions of this.

  • This is my favorite cover done by another band cuz Metallica and Anthrax are the greatest!.

  • whos the singer?

  • John Bush

  • i wonder why ;)

  • You got that right!, but lars is still a beast

  • its a really awesome cover but i like the tapping part and the middle part better on tallica's version

  • ops i dont know why that came 2 times =)

  • thats what she said

  • Lol man.I love when otr ppl set themselves up 4 that joke.Never gets old.

  • Yeah THRASHPUNK Owns!!!

  • Yeah THRASHPUNK Owns!!!

  • lol i didnt know they covered metallica either; the drummer is my neighbor

  • suuuuure he is.......

  • Awesome!

  • nice :)

  • sound so punk music! very nice

  • great cover but nobody can pull of james voice, metallica forever

  • @FRAMBEN Bush is crap compared to Joey, not that he can pull it off Scott Ian might come close.

  • @FRAMBEN i thing turbin could

  • @FRAMBEN well james thought john bush was a better vocalist than him and was the only one he would allow to join in place of him...

  • @FRAMBEN Metallica owned anthrax at their own thing, huh? :D

  • Comment removed

  • @CMStrike316 Please, it's AnThRaX and MetallicA.

  • I guess this is what Metallica would've sounded if John Bush really did join them back in the 80's.

  • i never knew anthrox covered this song they did a great job !!

  • me neither
