  • Ok, so you can do Dancing animations and stuff. But what about fighting animations? Can you do a punch or a kicking animation, that actually does impact on enemy ragdolls and hurt them? Or are the fighting animations always the ones, which are made by Wolfire?

    Sometime later, it became bugged and crashed the game. Since David didn't want to spend time fixing stuff they aren't using any more, it was disabled. I don't know if they plan to fix it for the final version.

  • Hmm, whenever I press ctrl + T to break the skeleton to the 3d character mesh, the editor crashes.

    And I set the bones at the same place as in this video. Is it just a bug?

    The problem is that many dickheads plays mmo's (no offense ^^), and many of them will just make "dick heads"... people with dick... as heads?... although it's a nice idea, many people ain't mature enough for such things.

  • That's like saying "Photoshop seems to be totally useless for production situation." after watching someone just screw around with it to show some features. The quality of the animation will be proportional to the effort put in, and the effort put into that animation was minimal.

    If we're talking about photoshop, i would say that there are very important reasons why photoshop is one of major software used by developers:

    1. accesibility

    2. tools to solve any given task

    Video above shows only accesibility put to its limits. I loved it but still I call it "Casual Animation". Because in real life when producing game expectations for animation tool are very high and no one will use tool that produce quick but useless/problematic outcome.

  • man that looks awesome i cant belive some one would call that casual animation, its all about the amount of effort that you put in. people dont screw around with a model for 10 minutes and it comes out the best it can but with this tool at least we can try. it can look the best depending on the person and the way there animating it.... god some people suck

  • don't be stupid, I'm sure you can tweak vertex weights. That's only the "automagical" rigging system, and it's quite awesome.

    Will there be support for custom player models, like user made?

  • Since you can rig and animate any model, and you can import custom models, you should be able to import a custom player model and then rig and animate it. I'm pretty sure they will add support for it.
