achaly that is my adv gas milage. and no i have a v8. but i put a bigger exaust on it. and i also use the super gas. i have a lot more mods on mine so iv improved the gas milage verry substantial. living at high altiude helps too

I'm not sure about 2000# round bales....We got 800#+ roundy's here and you can put a LOT (30+) of them on there before you run into problems. You guys that sit behind computers all day long, need to work Hay sometime!

I test one of these trucks for a friend who owns his own construction company and we both agree it's junk when it comes to pulling anything other than it's own wight. we put 8 bags of cement 90Lb each in each truck a ford ant this Toyota with the big 5.7, and my friend had to pay for the Toyota and put it up for sale after the chassis broke going up a hill.

6l chevy has no problem pulling 36000lbs. The 4l80 is an amazing tranny. Do your research the tundra does not have a lower gear ratio, all of the HDs with the 6l have a 4.10 rearend. The gooseneck weighs about 6000 on its own. the round bails weigh about 2000-2100 a piece. Also its not highly illegal because it is agriculture. And you would be amazed at what an easy time the truck has pull all of that weight.

SAE rated HP is rated at the flywheel, before any power is lost through the powertrain. Typically anywhere from 10 to 20% of the power at the flywheel doesn't make it to the ground.

I was seeing what the other trucks are like, to see which is best. Im actually went down to the near by toyota dealership to look at the interior and am not impressed, for the same price as the model I looked at I could have got a much better equipped f 150 with better towing and payload. and I'm not hating, I just dont like how toyota lies in their commercials about how great the tundra is when its got a trapezoidal frame which sucks and bends way too much. I like the f150 because i do work.
take a look at fords own 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks....their frames are eerily similar to the tundra, boxed up front with C channel in the rear. A good frame is supposed to bend under heavy loads, thats why all the big trucks have a frame like the Tundra's.
Its not a trapezoidal frame and it doesn't bend as much as the tundra. And the tundra's steel is actually bending cus its such cheap grade so it will degrade over time. There is a video under related videos on the right side 2nd one down. Check it out.

It's just people who are biased towards Toyota that say the Tundra is a good truck. It's only a good truck for those who just buy one for looks, not for putting it to work.

I had an '07 Limited which I used only for work and I can safely say it doesn't really stand along side the Big 3 trucks. The damn thing started to fall apart within 2 years of owning it & not to mention the ridiculously expensive dealer only maintenance changes. If GM is such "crap" then you should really see how beat my Tahoe is but it's still on the road even with a tweaked frame.

achaly that is my adv gas milage. and no i have a v8. but i put a bigger exaust on it. and i also use the super gas. i have a lot more mods on mine so iv improved the gas milage verry substantial. living at high altiude helps too

This is the review the big three fanboys cannot deal with. Now for a real world review, mine! For over 24 years I have owned Ford, Dodge and GMC, all of which had their issues, especially the first model year of a new body style. In 07 I bought a new Tundra LTD w/ 5.7, I have over 50K miles and has only needed oil changes / tires! No warranty service! All my trucks were used as daily drivers & trailer towing. Bottom line: Toyota got it right. BTW: Fiat + Ram = FRAM 1500 !!!!LOL

Well, I put a 6000# gooseneck and 3 John Deere "G"s 6000+ lbs EACH! (2-'45 aka "GM" narrow fronts and 1-'49 wide front) on my 2000 F350 Powestroke. now thats 24,000+ lbs and its legal. They're called FARM License plates.
I'm not sure about 2000# round bales....We got 800#+ roundy's here and you can put a LOT (30+) of them on there before you run into problems. You guys that sit behind computers all day long, need to work Hay sometime!

As for the 6.0 to the 5.7 on the tundra it still don't have the power it should like the Ford or Chevy..
I test one of these trucks for a friend who owns his own construction company and we both agree it's junk when it comes to pulling anything other than it's own wight. we put 8 bags of cement 90Lb each in each truck a ford ant this Toyota with the big 5.7, and my friend had to pay for the Toyota and put it up for sale after the chassis broke going up a hill.

I suggest you test drive a chevy vortec max if you think that the tundra is better. 6l is better quality and in reality despite the factory number the 6l has more power if you put it on a dyno. The 5.7 actually only produces about 320hp, toyota highly over rates the hp.

6l chevy has no problem pulling 36000lbs. The 4l80 is an amazing tranny. Do your research the tundra does not have a lower gear ratio, all of the HDs with the 6l have a 4.10 rearend. The gooseneck weighs about 6000 on its own. the round bails weigh about 2000-2100 a piece. Also its not highly illegal because it is agriculture. And you would be amazed at what an easy time the truck has pull all of that weight.

Hey Mr. educated, researched, farmer who thinks that kids are all dumb (I'm referring to you harwook), a dyno measures the HP that gets to the ground. SAE rated HP is rated at the flywheel, before any power is lost through the powertrain. Typically anywhere from 10 to 20% of the power at the flywheel doesn't make it to the ground.

doesnt mean that the flywheel rating was accurate now does it? i have a cobalt ss sc and many stock dyno vids show that it dynos at 220whp or around that range...funny cuz gm rated it at 205 flywheel. so i dont really believe edmunds has much grounds to say the 6L was underachieving because they have nothing accurate to compare to. also, i dunno if i read ur comment right, but if your comparing the output of same displacement engines, fuel economy should explain the power difference

Then again its ONLY a 1/2 ton truck Read: (Weak) Compared to our F250's 350's 450's and 550's. I still couldn't see putting 10,300 lbs of trailer behind that! I was seeing what the other trucks are like, to see which is best. Im actually went down to the near by toyota dealership to look at the interior and am not impressed, for the same price as the model I looked at I could have got a much better equipped f 150 with better towing and payload. and I'm not hating, I just dont like how toyota lies in their commercials about how great the tundra is when its got a trapezoidal frame which sucks and bends way too much. I like the f150 because i do work.

take a look at fords own 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks....their frames are eerily similar to the tundra, boxed up front with C channel in the rear. A good frame is supposed to bend under heavy loads, thats why all the big trucks have a frame like the Tundra's.

Why I bought my Toyota Tundra:
1: Its a Big a*s truck...
2: slide and recline seats
3: rear window rolls down (not a little side the hole dang window)
4: made in the USA (chevy made in mexico) (I am a chevy man to)
5: 381HP I tow a travel trailer pulls it like nothing 70mph up hill
Chevy/GMC look a little nicer, but what a truck..... :)

I owned.... noticed I said owned one of these hunks of crap for a year. They are total shit. They drive like shit, ride like shit, and toyota dosent know how to work on them. The dealers are clueless on how to fix these pieces of shit.

I test drove a F150 and a Silverado, the silverado won. I love it. Night and day aginst the Tundra. The F150 is nicer too, but the Silverado's ride is pretty amazing.

My dad had a Chevy and I had a toyota. the steel of a Jap truck rusted out years before my dad's truck. and as for towing the toyota can't pull it's own....

The reason why toyota pulled the diesel out of america because diesel is not a strong segment in america!! toyota is a smart company and onl offer products the profits them idiot. unlike gm and ford. But now the market needs it so they will be having completely new diesel available next year for the tundra, seqiioua land cruiser and tacoma. a 4.5 liter (400lbt ft) and a 7.0 inline 6 twin tubro(650 lb ft+).

oh really...7 liter is and inline 6 lightly tuned.. the engine was a pre production to show what it is capable of...it was lightly tuned. did u know the hino diesels are known to produce as much as 900 lb ft of torque...And do u even know why the turbos are there for??
