While the movie Superman Returns was overall quite crap, Brandon Routh and Kevin Spacey were EPIC! There is NO denying that! Just like there's no denying how awesome Henry Cavill will be in Man of Steel!
@Seafordshadow totes actually: good point. them two do sound different enough. i guess like when you know a band's back catalog, you find it all the easier to recognize them by just the sound of the opening notes/chords. john williams is maybe a bit like john rutter (i think i have the right name - does sacred music), it's very pop and modern and recognizable straight away. that sound williams is more like pop-classical whereas rutter is pop-sacred (i guess). that's why he's a go-to composer
one of my friends was listening to a load of johns soundtracks and found similar or same notes or sound ques or whatever they were called. most promptly heard in the star wars themes , i got this john williams filmworks cd, not a fan of stuff like far and away or other stuff on it, i listen to indy, superman and jurassic park (its universal so star wars wouldnt be on it)

@VsxRexio how do you know, i'm pretty sure everyone thought superman returns was going to be great until it came out, what's to say the new superman film won't suck as bad as that did? it have russell crowe in it so it's already going to suck at least partially
there is only one actor to play superman. and that is christopher reeve. until they make a clone of him, they should stop making superman movies.
