Ive made several picks out of hacksaw blades and engine dipsticks. Though I find they tend to get rust spots ofter carrying them around in humid conditions, TO those reading this, if you dont want that, try making picks out of old butter knife blades. Theyre stronger and are generaly made of stainless steel so It wont rust.

hmm, instead of grinding the paint off the blade, have you thought about a certain solvent like toluen or methylene chloride or perhaps acetonitrile? I think with at least one of those the paint should be wiped clean of.

You can also use the metal part of a wooden ruler for the tension wrench. Double it though or it might break or bend off.

I tried everything (Damn, those blades took forever to find in Home Depot), but when I got to the ironing part, the ink just stuck on the paper, or it was ironed onto the metal (Paper included in the ironing on). There was ONE that came out pretty decent, but... I mean, they're good enough to shave down (Plus, it has a faint outline that I can re-draw with a sharpie), but any recommendations? I'm not using a laser printer, so that might be it, but is there a possible other reason?

If your copy is inkjet thats probably your problem. He said it needs to be a lazer jet copy. Then you dip it into a glass of water and place face down and that the iron on has to be hot.
