  • Rob... I love this. Period. This is like my favorite tune ever and the steamboat rendition makes me smile big. :)

  • Hi.

    Great playing....!

Love your banjo videos. After 2 weeks with your cripple creek lessons, I almost got it... at low speed... And I have never played banjo before.

A request if you have the time some day:

"Take me home, country roads" on banjo (5 strings)...

  • That's a tremendous take on a truly beautiful song.

  • Thanks. I love the tune. I used to play on a steamboat. I was fielding requests, and a Youtuber asked me for this one on the banjo, so I did it. I'm glad someone liked it. I was afraid of getting hate mail.

  • I've done that tune many times on guitar. I do it as a ballad in a straight chord/melody style. Your version has inspired me to try to come up with a more spirited version on tenor banjo.

  • Thanks.

Yes, it is a six string, which is tuned like a guitar. It is a weird instrument, but I like using it for jobs outside, or if I have to stroll in a large room, with an accordion.

  • Good sound, I like that. Is it a six strings banjo?
