  • remember this as a kid lol seriously when i saw kendo's blood red eyes it scared the crap out of me >.<

  • 7:16 look at Haystacks' face

  • i used to love watching this, before the footy scores on saturday afternoons.

  • @dazgreen63 Those were the days!

  • @dazgreen63 r u serious ? how old are you?

  • @TheEIREGUNNER

    I am 47. Why ?

  • @dazgreen63 u said u grew up with this wrestling, thought u are quite old LOL

  • @TheEIREGUNNER

Yeah I when I was 19 remember laughing at an older mate because he was 26. The old Geezer :) Gone by in a flash. Believe me it does for everyone. Make the most of it.

  • Kendo Nagasaki, one the greats.

  • Giant Haystacks looking very slim! He must have eaten a billion pies over the next couple of years!

  • giant haystacks, now theres a name ive no heard in along time lol

  • British wrestling was great, there were very excellent atheletes.

even puroresu(japanese wrestling) was pioneered by british wrestling because it is a known fact that the new japan and the calgary junior heavyweights found its roots in british wrestling.

at least we finally have british wrestling on tv now:The UK Wrestling Experience on Sky channel 219 Thursdays 9 or 10 pm.

I watched it for the first time yesterday and thought it was very good.

  • Haystacks would have made a Great Frontman in a Death Metal Band ; if he stage dived he'd have taken out the first 4 rows !!!!!! Great Stuff ;i remember him leatherin'kid chocolate and the dynamite kid ,him and Skull Murphy!!!!!Great Days!!

  • this IS wrestling no crappy soap opera storylines just two guys who bashed the crap out of eachother!

  • Had a front row seat for a Haystacks match as a kid in the early 70's.....I shit myself!!

  • good match

  • the ring looks a bit small

  • Were Nagasaki and George, er...an item?

  • @vordman There were rumors.

  • Haystacks BILLED 197 kg here (note billed, he wasnt that big) and in 1996 he was billed to 300+ LMAO. Was he ever a legit 200 kg? (440 lbs) i doubt

  • @xismxist in the late 80s and 90s Haystacks was well over 40 stone (560lbs)

  • @78lurch if he was he would then have been billed to like 800, but wasnt...

  • The great Max Ward was one of the best.

    Brian Crabtree was well over.

Naggers and George were very good together.

story lines were in there early stages,The USA was offering a different style of wrestling which did indeed catch on,for me ALLSTAR Wrestling or Dale Martins

could not compete with what was happening accross the pond.A`lthough myself

i wish someone would give the next generation of wreslers a chace when you see the likes of british wrestlers doing well state side.

  • these were the best days without doubt, would go back to these times in an instant.

  • This was great wrestling not that cartoon American crap we get now.

  • @mistaben2k this was real wrestling yes but american wrestling is more entertaining. it is better mainly coz of the technology these days but back in these days british was better

  • @mistaben2k

Dave Finley, Steven Regal, and a whole host of tough british bastards are in that "american crap", and they'd break your fucking thumbs

  • @MrEvilPiggy @mistaben2k Its not wrestlers fault. Its companys directors fault what we get today. Do not blame wrestlers for it.

  • @XanaronnoV6

I'm not blaming them, i'm blaming you for saying they are in nothing but "American Crap"....when they are very tough guys indeed

  • @mistaben2k and this doesn't look like a cartoon?

  • @mistaben2k Let's be honest, this is pretty cartoon, you have two grown men in capes and strongmen outfits fake fighting each other. There's no lights, smoke, or badly staged verbal arguments in this clip but I'd still call it pretty cartoon.

  • @mistaben2k out of allllllll the matches you could have chosen you chose this one to that that................

  • I loved that referee... This is so funny to watch after all these years. We actually believed it was true!

  • It is true that Kendo lost a few tag matches that is right, it was mainly the fault of his tag partner, but he never lost an ordinary bout on TV, he beat both B D and G H as seen in part II, officially he was never defeated, it was the fake Kendo..."King Kendo" that got beat, the rumours that the real Kendo gave up the mask because of losing a bout have been unsubstantiated, those who claim this don't name who was supposed to have beaten him and there is no film of it.

  • @proff180 kendo never lost the world title in which he won fromthe great wayne bridges

  • Nagasaki billed 6'1... and it surely did look like it was 10 inches between them!! LMAO! haystacks was never even a full 6'5 imo

  • Brings old memories when I watched the fight in black and white tv

  • Are you kidding me?I thought that manager was a woman,he was way ahead of his time.

  • I definitely remember Kendo losing twice. Once was against Bill Howes in 1971(?) when he was disqualified, and the other was much later against Pete Roberts when he was also disqualified.

  • Tremendous post. Thanks a lot.

  • haystack was the nicest bloke unlike the crabtree clan ie big daddys mob.

  • look at those big wrestling boots on haystacks, excellent!

  • can anybody remember a wrestler called "pretty boy floyd"? he used to wrestle on itv aswell. if so, can you let me know where i can find one of his wrestling videos. thanks

  • Kendo Nagasaki was actually the world champion of wrestling, he won the title in a bout that wasn't televised but due to lots of controversy the title was never properly recognised, it got even more bizarre when Kendo retired, because as he retired undefeated and without relinquishing the belt, no other wrestler was able to take the title without beating Kendo Nagasaki, and as far as I know this still stands today, Kendo never officially lost a bout, there were only rumors that he did.

  • Cant believe this is the only time these two were wrestling each other on tv.They should of wrestled each other 1 on 1 and tag teams many times on tv.1 idea i would liked to see ,would be kendo and skull murphy v haystacks and scrub o daily.

  • to see two men kiss on TV was very radical for the UK in 1977!

  • Yeah, but it was hardly a with tongues snog lol.

  • @anthonythirteen I don´t know, it was normal to see such things on the Big Match and Match of the Day. lol.

  • Brain beats brawn
