I think what is meant by "tempo" is that there is no "steady tempo", which seems to me to be true - some sections are faster than others. That being said, we don't need to place value on steady tempo all the time do we? Maybe that's what Kaki was going for - she plays it this way consistently I've noted - varying the tempo in different sections.

I have played the old way and I love to watch her do thngs my teachers never even considered.

it's not that she's just a fairly hot woman, it's just that she's created an image for herself. Because of that image of being an artist and an "individual", she can create whatever music she wants and people feel like they have to respect that.
