  • WTF at 1:09 is that a statue with many breast spraying breat milk

  • Almost all of the great minds and thinkers of ancient Greece have been to Egypt early in their lives to learn from the Egyptians the knowledge that no one knew anything about at that time. The Greeks took that knowledge and added to it.That ancient knowledge almost died out when the barbarians of Europe destroyed the Roman empire but the ancient Muslim Arabs translated all the Latin and Greek books they found and added a lot to it and preserved it for posterity, thats the only good thing they did.

  • Mechanic inventions begun with Archimedes (his inventions had been used for the military defence of Syracuses, and the Roman general Marcellus was unable to defeat them and had to resort to traitors, to get into the city).

Back then people knew, that such mechanical devices could be made, and there was no reason to suggest any superstition. The whole documentary is inaccurate, ridiculous and shameful and ii only highlights the typical christian smear and hatred against real religions!

  • We have historical accounts of use of mechanic devices in military defence (like Archimedes' in Syracuses) and there is no hint of any superstition in these reports. So it would have been impossible for mechanics to be used by... evil priests to ...impress the... sheep. Typical christian wishful thinking! LOL

At Heron's time mechanics were widespread and often used for scientific or defence purposes. No historical sources, of his time or little later on, exist about any scams or priest tricks.

  • Heron was a student of Ctesebius (both are considered to be of the Archimedian school of mechanics). Heron, among many things, had invented hydraulic clocks, and a 'dioptra' for geographic and stellar calculations.

  • @astrologikon I think you are disillusioned.

  • @astrologikon i think the video brought up some pretty good examples but i don't thik they were evil. just clever

  • Another christian provocation, full of ridiculous sensationalism and no facts, in order to slander the priests of Hellenic and Aegyptian religions. Christian viewpoint of "manipulation of the stupid sheep" is very much active, here, and also a lot of envy about the mechanics.

However, that was a different world. People KNEW about mechanics and about such devices since centuries, and were well aware that there was nothing supernatural about them or 'magical'.

  • where are Heron's inventions now?

  • This is why I'm glad I'm a christian.

  • @DavidUmstattd some churches use the same tricks too

  • lies then lies now,the game never changed just the story, they loved to control the ppl then just like now WOW

  • @clone1eighty7 Actually the documentary is wrong at this point... Hellenic priests didn't have any real power. They where chosen by the community they served. These mechanical devices merely served to more easily bring the worshippers in the right state of mind to commune with the Gods.

  • @clone1eighty7 Not to mention the fact that the ancient Hellenes didn't need priests to mediate between them and the God slike in other religions (like xtianity). Everyone could petition the God sthemselves, and offer prayers, sacrifices, worship, etc. Women where in this respect equal to men and could even decide on their own to make pilgrimages. So people had personal relationships with the Gods, and a mediator was unnecessary.

  • The Pope is the anti Christ He CHANGED THE SABBATH day from sat to sunday he killed the christians he called himself JESUS substitute on earth Vicarius filii dei and he came out of the divided roman empire right after its collapse. The bible says before JESUS will come and take his people home this world will be decieved by this servant of satan pretending to be God. The pope is the decption of satan for this world the pope is the down fall for people at the end of the world

  • This is terrible on the people's part. Probably one thing that gives religion such a bad name!!! I'm a christian!

  • @GREATGAIWAIN - Yes, these are just a few examples of what gives religion a bad name. Look up the where the English word 'church' comes from, it is from 'Circe' the ancient Greek goddess mentioned in Homer's Illiad / Odyssey. She was said to hypnotize men in private behind closed doors, that happens to people in "church" every week, and to top it off, the word SUN-day is never found in the whole Bible.

  • @GREATGAIWAIN Far less terrible than crucades, witch burning, book banning and burning, and keeping the masses uneducated apart from religious books. The ancient world may have had alot of superstitious rites but they didn't keep the citizens from education. Especially not the fundamentals of reading and writing, even Leonardo da vinci was kept from it because he was a "bastard"

  • @Tyrfingr witch burning? lol you sound superstitious to me. But ya they kept them from education but what difference would it have made? They would still have believed. The only thing I don't believe is that people accept evolution. A theory devoid of physical evidence or any other evidence. It annoys me the same way that lack of education annoys you.

  • @GREATGAIWAIN Superstitious, how do you make that out ? Witch burning was a factual event at the hands of christians. And what difference it would have made to introduce a proper education you ask ?, I never thought someone would ask such a thing. Do the believers these days behave as they used to ?, are we not living in civilized societies thanks to education ?. Creationism is devoid of facts too, it exist on printed paper made by men. At least fossil/human remains have something to show for.

  • @Tyrfingr i say that was superstitous cause they were not witches. It would make no difference cause they would be believers regardless. All facts support intelligent design. The fossil record support evolution with all these clear cut gaps? The fact that we have geologic ages is a problem cause it should be a flowing continuous process

  • @GREATGAIWAIN You called me superstitious in your previous post, that's what i reacted on. I was just pointing out what is common knowledge, that those people who had different ideas were labeled as witches by the christians, and that they were burned as a result of it. Education doesnt take away belief from people but it has made societies more civilized. My view on how things came into being is uncertain as it should be. Or as Plato said "The only thing i know is that i dont know anything."

  • @Tyrfingr WOAH WOAH WOAH! They were burned ONLY by Christians? I don't think they were burned by any Christians. Everyone was doing it and not everyone was a christian. There were atheists back then.

  • @GREATGAIWAIN Make sense ?

  • @Tyrfingr You said that Christians burned witches. 1: there were no witches, 2: Christians didn't burn anyone ( if they did then they were pseudo christians). Everyone was burning who they percieved to be witches.

  • @GREATGAIWAIN Of course there were no witches, that was what the christians labeled free thinkers or dissidents as. That they dabbled in witchcraft and was in league with the devil, it's kind of the same treatment that are given to people these days but without the stakes. Character assassination and black listed from work instead. But i do find it rather amusing and frightening at the same time that people live in denial, and rationalizes what happened to thousands of people over centuries.

  • @Tyrfingr free thinkers? hahaha! that was hilarious...

White supremisists do that to people.

  • @GREATGAIWAIN

Do not bother casting pearls before swine. He is a communist who hates Christ.

  • @Tyrfingr

Last month the Saudi's burned a school to the ground full of children which they locked inside, because there was girls attending. And yet, morons like yourself keep talking about the Crusades.

  • @TaqiyyaExposer If the question of Saudis had been brought up i might have had the same thing to say about them in their turn, but they weren't discussed and yet i am the communist moron ?. Entertaining. However wouldnt it be a sign of a moron to call others for morons simply for having other views or different reasoning ?. The world would still be flat if haters of argument would be the ruling class. I never expected anyone to like what i have to say, but i see no reason in civlized discussion.

  • @Tyrfingr

Whatever knob cheese, you brought up your anti Christian agenda, and like a true neo-commie you resort to ancient history to besmirch the faith, all the while ignoring modern religious atrocities, simply because they are not Christian.

  • @TaqiyyaExposer Childish name calling have no effect on me and i have no anti agenda. If people choose to believe it is their business. But if you followed the discussion from the start you might notice what it was all about in the first place. He said - "Probably one thing that gives religion such a bad name!!! I'm a christian!". And i merely went on to point out that the christians have given themselves a bad name throughout history. As for communism and modern crap, we could debate that too

  • @TaqiyyaExposer Both of which are full of shit by the way, communism is a suppressive totalitarian ideology, and fundamental/fanatical form of religion is the same. And im not inclined towards any of them. I do discuss these things with people calmly and rationally though. With those who can that is, others it would seem preffere to blindly attack and accuse and drag in things that had no place in the original discussion.

  • @Tyrfingr

No, you're a commie, you're just such a stupid commie you don't know it yet. The Anti Christian nonsense is all based on communist agitprop, nobody ever once questioned the Crusades ethically before Marx. The only problem people had was the fact that the Pope played God and granted people redemption. Nobody said it was wrong to attack Islam to recapture lands they had stolen off us.. That is communist myth, as is the idea of witch burning being common practice.

    Fly a red flag.

  • @TaqiyyaExposer Calm down, i can almost see the spit flying as you type and scream at the monitor at the same time. Easy does it.

Anti christianity you say started with communism ?. Im sorry to break this to you, but atheism have existed for a long damn time, for as long as the religion itself has existed actually if you read history properly. I guess marx may have had some points, i don't know because i havent read his works. As for communism well it was just a way of keeping people from hope

  • @TaqiyyaExposer it's easy to verify it if you take your time to read the internal russian documents and properly study how communism was outlined. Everyone talks about Marx, but few seems to know who Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel was who inspired Marx. If Marx questioned the crusades, then good. People need to look at history in relation to what they believe wether it be religion or politics or anything else to properly understand it's nature, and how things repeat itself.

  • @TaqiyyaExposer And witch burning happened quite often between the 16th-17th century. Might want take a look into the inquisition and find out just what they did to alleged sinners and "enemies of christ"

  • @Tyrfingr

Three comments, and you've the audacity to accuse me of being worked up. So you think all atheists are anti Christian? I don't go to church, or read the bible, or pray, that makes me an atheist. Moron. 350 people died during the Spanish inquisition, 350 honor-killings (murdering ones wives or daughters) last week in Iran. Maybe it is you who could learn something moron. Tell me about the terror of Robespierre.. Stalin. Mao Zedong. Absolute fucking moron.

  • @TaqiyyaExposer You have called me a stupid communist, moron, fucking moron and a knob cheese. And i have the audacity to think you are worked up.. I dont know if i should laugh or cry. Do you pay any attention to how you mind the way you talk to people ?. Don't you realize how you portray yourself to the world ?. Even more so by mindlessly leaping into a discussion without so much as a "hello there, i have something to say" and debate rationally. And i am the moron ?, at least im respectful.

  • @TaqiyyaExposer three comments because youtube doesnt allow enough characters. I thought you would understand that, but you since you attack people for just about every little detail you can find or come up with im not surprised you mentioned it.

If i ever had pity for a person...

  • @Tyrfingr

Are you insinuating that you have never pitied another? The three comments prove that you felt the need for a long reply, and hence were worked up. It is much easier to call someone a moronic commie than to stretch out 1500 characters of nonsensical gobbledygook. Nice way of avoiding the facts and resorting to hypocritical ad hominems. If you're going to insult another, at least mention facts, like i did. Retarded commie.

  • @TaqiyyaExposer More presumptions, i havent insinuated anything if you care to read what i write instead of interpreting what you like it to mean. And it's not that i avoid anything for no reasn. Why should i continue to amuse you with well behaved replies, when all you're doing is to call me moron, commie and so on for whatever answer is given ?. That doesnt exactly enlighten anyone, nobody learns a thing and it most certainly doesnt evolve into any sort of creative debates.

  • @Tyrfingr

Or, you have no facts at all, but just enjoy parroting the communist agitprop about the inquisition and crusades.. All the while remaining completely unaware about the tragic human rights violations which occur everyday all over the Islamic world, or in atheist China and north Korea. Again, you're a retarded commie.

  • @TaqiyyaExposer Again, you are the one who offends. Are you 14 or something ?, what makes you think anyone in the world would want to debate anything at all with someone who obviously trolls and resorts to offend people in every post ?. I suggest you engage in serious philosophy, begin with reading Plato it might be a good start of improving your character. Have a good life.

  • @Tyrfingr

Truly sad... Why would i read the gibberish of a raving pedophile? I might as well read the Koran.

  • @TaqiyyaExposer ya know ... Hitler was a Christian ... and your telling me Muslims are evil ...

  • @tayatay5

“The heaviest blow which ever struck humanity was Christianity; Bolshevism is Christianity’s illegitimate child. Both are inventions of the Jew.” -Adolf Hitler..

Nice try Muslim, so what's the best selling book in Turkey apart from the Koran?

  • @TaqiyyaExposer if ur really so ignorant then why dont u just go and watch glenn beck

  • @tayatay5

Nice try Muslim cum gargle. Just fuck off, Glenn Beck is Jew rat, but at least he is much more worthy of life than you or any other Muslim.

  • @TaqiyyaExposer this is exactly you'll always be in darkness, this conversation is over

  • @tayatay5

    Fuck you.

  • @TaqiyyaExposer you know Islam is really one of the most peaceful religions in the world, though I doubt you could ever understand. If you look at history just about every religion has crazy people. Christianity has the Klu Klux Klan and Nazis, ok maybe Hitler was not a Christian but a lot of Nazism is based on Christianity.

  • @tayatay5 What are you smokin, ye mad cunt.

  • AWESOME! FASCINATING! AMAZING! GREAT! MAGIC!

    Thanks for posting!

From Russia with Admire and Respect!
