@zingzangzap Your missing words like background that rule out 100s of possibilities to what your ACTUALLY asking. Set up the animated desktop I haven't done it in years, haven't even tried on Win7. I'd never run motion desktop on a laptop anyway unless you want to send it back to HP again! It's for performance computers not moderate use laptops (c700)

btw, what service pack do you have? i heard that xp x64 had really bad compatibility before upgrade to service pack 2. (2 is the magical number for all microsoft windows like 2000/xp/vista/7.....)

@hanrinch You are absolutely correct in a nice way thanks! Gets ridiculously hot like WAY to hot its a recall but if properly cooled... It's a power house. When I render HUGE video files.. I sometimes have to do shots of liquid nitrogen into the sides of the heat sink to keep stable. Its a bit nonsense.

these cooling solution cost a lot of gold i presume? since i had an athlon x2 3800+ and stock heatsink it is all the way to the roof....even hotter than pentium d 805.....it was dark age for processor cooling.....it was kinda ridiculous back to 2004-2005 that non of their stock cooling can reduce their temperature and owner have to spent extra grand just for crazy hardcore cooling...

@hanrinch Yes definitely, and 2004/2005 launched the worst fail ever, the Dell Inspiron 9100 with a desktop processor in it witch melts the things down. I had 2 of the stupid things they called a desktop replacement

well that is the reason why i built myself pentium e5300 + 4gb ocz xtc 2x2 + geforce 9800gt in 2008. it ran a lot cooler and quiet then my athlon x2 3800+ + 2gb cosair 1x2 + geforce 8600gt. not to mention the performance increase and stability. but one thing did not change -----

I still kept my xp x64 sp2 on my pentium while install vista on athlon x2 :D

nah, i only spent $800 at the time(november 2008), and most costly part are western digital cavior 500gb, 9800gt and ocz xtc ram XD.

vista is not that bad when you turn the machine into just pure torrent downloader XD. safe and secure, virus free XD (my athlon x2 is running vista 32 business for bittorrent. )

indeed, during the time frame of 2004 they released both athlon 64 and prescott that resampled the begin of the nuclear age..... having one of their processor was like having a nuclear reactor.... however it came worse when both company released dual core version of "nuclear weapon" that can actually eradicate your whole computer case....horrible memory....

we should be thankful the invention of conroe(C2D) if it werent for conroe we would have chance to have reach multicore era today.

and speak of virus, it is not because x64 is unharm from virus, it is that most of hacker find difficult to make virus that is effective to 64bit instruction due to the massive complex instructure. remember it took hackers/crackers about 10 year to total analyze 32bit computing . and that is until year 1999-2001. and 64bit is 4,294,967,296 times more complex.

Well I have 2 PCIE slots for 2 video cards BUT I just am using one with dual outputs.

no just the correct drivers. I do use some things to make it easier like UltraMon. But its not required. Get a card with dual DVI outputs its beter then using two DSUB or a DSUB and a DVI. Go with dual DVI outputs :)
