did you change the settings of the car at all? I have done this race countless times, and I was able to get to the first segment in first place, which rarely happened, and then I would fall all the way to the back by the end of the race.
Not on that run i didn't, but i had the pace notes switched off because it was doing wierd things to my sound when i had my wheel plugged in (which was why i ploughed into those logs)
The middle segment is where it's won or lost on that stage though, if you can crack that on you're onto a winner :)
I wonder if that's why I'm having such a hard time with this - I'm using a game controller, It seems like you need to have the steering wheel for these races. It took me forever to get past the Renault Alpine race (the first race in the the Classics section), and I'm stuck at this one now.
Definitely makes the difference, in my opinion. Takes some getting used to, but well worth it in the end. I don't know the time difference for this because it's been that long, but on GT5 i was knocking about 10 seconds a lap off my times at Suzuka. It makes the game much more involving and rewarding too :)
For sure :) Just need to make sure you've got something sturdy to mount them to, I've broke a few (admittedly cheap and flimsy) tables with mine ;)
If you're looking for the ultimate experience I'd suggest either a Logitech G25 or the newer G27, otherwise the Driving Force Pro/GT is more than up to the job (I've had/have both the G25 and the GT and can vouch for both of them) :)
haha, indeed. The annoying thing is, I did a perfect run after this when it wasnt recording :@ lol. Was my first time out with my new steering wheel, so wasnt that bad =)
