Dont compare ARR to ilayaraja. To be honest if ARR would be only 25% of ilayaraja and MSV would be 60% ..purely on the talent..and every aspect of the composition....who can match ilayaraja's orchestration...none of the composers in india are a match to him in that aspect.

@ushank10 I like both of them. It's unfair to compare people of different eras. It's like Sachin and Bradman discussion. Illayaraja songs might not be enjoyed world over, but no one can beat him in Indian music. A.R.Rahman has a better understanding of world music and has an Universal appeal. But that does not mean he is not good in Indian music. ARR's songs based on Carnatic and Hindustani style are some of the best. Illayaraja song plays with emotions, ARR provides freshness
