Google Apollo 11 Press Conference (Motherboard). At 48:20 Neil Armstrong says "we were never able to see stars from the lunar surface".

I will not retract what I said. All flights were in pure oxygen, because nitrogen at low pressure gives the bends which divers have to avoid. Air is 20% oxygen and 80% nitrogen.
The fire in the Apollo 1 capsule was an accident.
