  • hate this game!

  • the book "the game maker's companion" brought me here.

  • where is the music :(?

  • The retail box of this game was simply amazing..... it had a chupa chups lollypop, Zool stickers, two posters and a t-shirt.

But the best thing about it imo was the security codes card. It had Zool in various positions that you had to match to get the matching security code.

  • chubba chubs were'nt advertising at all in this game were they XD

  • A Dentist's nightmare

  • did this game get a sequel somewhere?

  • @Rakborsten

Yes - Zool 2 - didnt you see that it was first in the video suggestions on the right? ;)

  • Buy Chupa Chups.

  • 2D platform games are the best in the world. Shame they don't make them anymore :(. 3Ds are boooring.

  • badly needs ingame music

  • OH!!!!!! I really miss this game, i try to download from google but i can't remember the name. I know it's about ChupaChups game! Thank you so much that you bring back my really good memory in the past! > <

  • What? No music?

  • There's no music ? I had a demo version of Zool, but the music was fantastic there

  • @tomaszkajor that demo was awesome with different music from the final game release. it was called rock n zool the sunset mix. i believe.

    dj rogue

  • God I loved this game

  • This game was awesome...no other word for it. Full of nice little touches like the piano, etc.

  • Oke, why is it that I sometimes cant complete a level. By this, I mean I get to the end of the level and the turkey thing at the end is flashing. I have hit all the button thingies.

  • @vglp33

That is if you havent collected enough candy in the level

  • @cubex55 Ah. Thank you very much. Always wondered why it did this. Now I know.

  • @cubex55 Playing this on Mega Drive and getting the same problem of the flashing icon (the thing that finishes the level), even though I seem to have collected all of the objects. It's one of the music levels. *shrug*

  • cubex your a legend! thanx for these awesome uploads

    1

  • OMG this game

  • questo gioco è stato tutto per me...avevo la bellezza di 7 o 8 anni quando ci giocavo...

  • I wish I still had an Amiga and Zool too!

  • @Martinofredwall100

    Just WinUAE emulator :)

  • @cubex55I can't understand Amiga emulators!

  • where the background music ?

  • Ha, that is so sly!

This game was made by Amiga to rival Sonic the Hedgehog, and in the ending cinematic where Zool returns to his family, you can see him boot a small, blue, hedgehog-like creature off the screen.

    Haha.

  • Wtf 1 hour?? ,waste of frikin time!!

  • I had this once!

  • anemic game.

  • I remember my brother buying this game, inside had a free lolipop and i remember saying...wow......haha....how sad was I at 10 years old.....

  • Played this every evening when I should have been doing my homework LOL

  • Been there done that, man we really wasted our lives didn't we?

  • Painful moment at 27:25

    The controls were pretty irritating

  • how sad, the rock music is a GREAT music!!! :(

  • GIANT POLO!!! :D

  • brilliant game.

Is there any websites where u can play classics like Zool, Castle and World of Illusion znd Battletoads and stuff like that?

  • Nope, get an emulator to play those :)

  • had this for my 10th birthday - I was the happiest guy ever!

  • Oh this is the shit american one, with no music lol

  • Wgat the hell are you doing at about 0:09:40?! Were you having a chicken, Leeroy? :]

  • I loved this game.... Zool and Turrican.. Great to see this again!

  • I could never play this, get to the CD world and I'd get killed, nice to be able to watch it now

  • lol it took you ages to realise what the 4 hit combination was

  • Any chance of posting a Zool 2 longplay?

  • Request it on the RecordedAmigaGames forums :)

  • This was fast, tough and addictive!

  • One of the best games ever made(IMHO)!

  • This game just popped up in my head so i searched on youtube, ahhh the nostalgia i think i was 4 years old when i first played this game.

  • me 2 man!! times will never be the same ;(

  • Zool !!!

The cool Alien ninja from Nth Dimension!

    I loved that game!

  • was kinda good that the background was empty,i played this on the cd32,and it took advantage of the aga chipset, which let very detailed background, unforntaly this made it hard to see zool at same time!

  • Background always looked empty here...

  • The game was nice, but graphics/sound actually kind of mediocre (compared with say Bitmap Brothers and Core games). It was also a slight rip-off of Sonic the Hedgehog (Sega). Guess the reviewers were raving because of an Amiga equivalent game.

  • I played the demo for hours.

  • yeah, I can remember the demo music to this day. I thought it was so cool back then!

  • i used to always lose the password cardboard spinny thingy lol

  • it was a bloomin disgrace that Robocod and Zool were ported to consoles these were the computers answer to mario and sonic. It annoyed me that james pond 3: Operation Starfish was on megadrive and A1200 but not A500.

  • I never really liked Pond 3, whereas Pond 2 is one of my favourite games. I was never a fan of Zool, the whole product-placement thing confused me, even back then. Also a little too colourful for my liking.

  • If you believed the magazine reviews at the time, this game could cure cancer.

  • mate, i remember exactly what you mean.

  • @cipollini It does look like it could cause diabetes

  • goldfish....i remember!

  • You should have played with the 'rave' tune! that's the only way to play Zool :P

But nice vid, well done this game is really hard to control, but once you get used to it it's a really playable little gem. Zool 2 was even better. Underrated.

  • eheh A my old childhood friend : )

  • I loved playing this on my A1200. I still play it using dosbox on my Mac & PC. The game, from what i understand, is now abandoned and can be downloaded for free.

  • i love amiga

  • i still get sweet tooth watching this game, till this day...oh the memories.

  • you don't play it very well

  • Feel free to submit a better longplay :)

  • unfortunately, I don't have this game. I used to have it on Amiga and I completed it many times. don't get me wrong but you seem to make a lot of unnecessary mistakes.

  • YOU SUCK! nah i know i wasnt too hot on this game. I got awesome and was gona record the CD32 version but kept game kept crashing on me on lvl 2.

On the plus side the amount of times i replayed lvl 1 meant i could do it blindfolded and still look like a pro D:

  • oh hell yeah. is this a classic or what. spent many hours with this one.

  • Boy your alot better at this game then I am!

  • Cool game, dead fast, with nice effects.

  • what a game i remeber being 5 playin this it rocked

  • One of my best amiga and childhood classics ever.

  • on the title you just had to press space bar to bring up the option screen

  • man, why didnt you select the rave tune?

  • I didnt know there was music in this game :D but i never checked the options ¬_¬

I will be playing the CD32 version of this game sometime so the music in all its glory will be in that video.

  • Finally youve put a good game up here.
