  • Hey everybody. Yes its true that sometimes black smoke from diesel means unburned fuel but so is the fact that diesel burns with black smoke, so if you have 7mm elements (or bigger) in the pump it means only that there is huge amount of diesel burned in the engine . Remember that these mercs have atleast 400hp. They need the fuel to balance the mixture of 2-3 bar boost from the HX40. 120hp diesel smoking = bad . 400hp diesel smoking = normal
