Best talk show ever, better that the Peep Show, The Highlight Reel, The V.I.P. Lounge, Carlito's Cabana, Barber's Shop, Cutting Edge, Piper's Pit. THE FUNERAL PARLOUR, hosted by Paul Bearer, was the real deal of talk shows..
I loved the warrior when I was a kid. But nowadays, I can't blame the Undertaker for bashing him over the head with an urn and locking him in a casket. I think a lot of us can appreciate wanting to hit him with something whenever he went on a 10 minute tangent about the blood red moon rising above the rooster that crows at midnight, and the Gods from above parts unknown nurturing the back body drop of life.
My god WWF was awesome back then. No chicks and no stupidity about chicks A doing things to chicks B with big guys being mad about chicks A doing stuff and talking on the mic saying the same shit for the past 10 years. WWF was closer to theater + a can of whoopass. Damn it was amazing and awesome....
I loved the undertaker from day one.. even as a "bad guy". I was a bit of an emo/goth kid back then. Depressed and obsessed with death. Taker was my idol.
To me UW was a beast even though he was kinda sloppy he still made me want to wake up saturday and watch my cartoons and wait for wwf to start. I would always hope he showed up. I enjoyed the other wrestlers, but he made me want to see undertaker. UW and UT were both badd ass, but without UW (To me) 1996-2002 would of been so much different. the writers had to creat something BIG to top the pops UW got ... you had Bret, but then came Mr. Cold!! I don't hate any of the wwe stars I enjoy them all.
YOOO!! I REALLY REMEMBER THIS! I WAS LIKE 7 AND THE UNDERTAKER USED TO SCARE THE SHIT OUTTA ME LOL!!! WARRIOR WAS MY MAN SO I WAS CRYIN N SHIT WHEN HE GOT PUT IN THE CASKET LOL!! I LEFT THE ROOM BUT LIKE PEAKED IN FROM THE HALL!!! ON SOME REAL LIL KID SHIT LOL!! CHILDHOOD WAS THE SHIT! NOW I GOT MY OWN SON AND WRESTLING IS BULLSHIT NOW :(
Nice sequence, classic WWF stuff. Paul Bearer was a ugly dude...lol...thanks for posting! Brings back memories. Wrestling has changed so much not worth watching on TV anymore. Thank goodness we have these videos to watch again-:)
u got that shit rite. Wrestling was wrestling back n the 80's & not just a bunch of fuking guys trask talking each other & running their mouths like they do 2day. I mean when wrestlers came out back n the day the came ready 2 take care of business 7 get shit done & taking care of. 2day all their worried about is who can out talk who.
OH! & by the way, entertaining starts with a (E) not an (I) seriously learn how 2 spell why don't u or at least learn how 2 read & pic up a dictionary & look it up.
@37map37 Wow are you bipolar? first you start off by agreeing with what i said about wrestling which is cool, yet you flip and start telling me I need to learn how to read and pick up a dictionary, ok well lets look at the current situation at hand. This guy don't know me from shit and wants to blast me on my spelling Right?Dude lets take a look at your spelling shall we? you spelled "right"fucking"today"In"to"and pick".Word of advice if your gonna insult someone on spelling, get your shit right.
I can just imagine Lord Alfred Hayes saying something like, "And it seems that the Undertaker is just so much more powerful than the Ultimate Warrior!"
Yo i remember watching this thinking, i couldnt beat The Undertaker in my dreams, I would prolly be talking alll types of shiit until i see him come out there with a caskett with my name on it. . then i would start apoligizing. . dude had me shook
What was so "ultimate" about Warrior? He was never as strong as Taker. He also could not sell moves and would not job clean.
At 3:00 Paul Bearer looks like he is waiting for Taker to show up to eject the unruly Warrior. I also enjoyed how Macho Man grunted, "Ooohhh, yeahhhhhh," as soon as Taker sneaks up on the weak-minded Warrior.
I still remember this year, WWE seemed to have some kind of fascination with death or attempted murder of their characters that year. You had this, about a week or two later Damien got crushed by Earthquake, and later in the year, Jake sicked a cobra on both Warrior and Macho Man Randy Savage.
@johnissoevil no kidding lmao! couldn't get away with half the shit they used to do now. imagine if taker started putting people into body bags after he won his matches again? haha, parents all over the world would be having heart attacks!
Defeating Warrior on his Funeral Parlor Show was easy for Paul Bearer. His trusty Undertaker easily ejected their unruly guest. Check out Paul at 2:45.
Paul Bearer never had to worry about how to eject an out-of-control "guest" to his parlor. Mr. Warrior was easily "disposed of" by the security services of Taker, our hero.
Paul Bearer always knew all of Warrior's weaknesses. The Ultimate Undertaker was just younger, bigger, and so much stronger, and that was only half of the fun.
This when Undertaker was REAL. Paul Bearer was the best hype-man in any version of WWF, WWE, or ECW wrestling. Undertaker had the cool coffin thing going and represented Death, Demise, Haunting, the whole persona of being a frickin spooky wrestler. Paul Bearer was mostly responsible for his success IMO. Now he just looks like a tattooed biker who wrestles.
watch very carefully after the comment "the bloodshot look in my eyes....." a ton more smoke arises from nowhere after the gaze in to nothingness a nod to the ultimate warrior's out of the ring habits?
The funeral parlor was THE best segment of all time. The barbershop was ok, the Brother Love show was lame but still better than any of the current or recent segments such as: The cutting edge, the V.I.P, Carlito's Cabana or any of those gay segments that the WWE pollutes the the airwaves with, these days.
WHEN I SAW THIS AS A TEN YEAR OLD GIRL IN 1991, I WAS IN TEARS. I WORSHIPPED THE U L T I M A T E W A R R I O R...I WAS IN LOVE WITH HIM. I almost had a heart attack, I was crying, screaming and shaking violently, seriously. I thought it was reall..
This is why old school guys from any generation laughs at any new generation. Because old school will always be hardcore in alot of ways. I cant blame them. Just like the Mikes Hard Lemonade commercial. In a world that's gone soft. Someone's gotta be hard. Its very true.
This may be the greatest 15 minutes the WWF ever EVER put together. I remember watching it as a kid, and yeah, it scared the crap out of me too. Thanks for posting!!!!!!!!!!
No. That is not what I wrote. I did not state the the villain would have clobbered the hero by following the rules. I meant the opposite. Villains, being such big scoundrels that they were, would have to depend on "cheating" to get the upper hand. That is why so many brought their "gang" with them to ringside. The hero would often foolishly show up alone, thereby making it easier to be defeated. This "story angle" was used so many times, and it became funny to see the good guy get pinned.
Since "the weakier" was playing the role of the good guy, Taker had no choice but to use a foreign object being that he was playing the bad guy. This implies that if the "villain" had played "by the rules," our hero would have easily clobbered, but then there would be no challenge in that.
Selling moves is a great way to keep the audience in suspence so that they will keep coming back for more. Now that is a good way to sell the show.
Warrior would look so natural and so at rest lying inside the casket. When Paul Bearer says this, we can hear Macho Man saying, "Ooohhh, yeahhh!" That is such a treat.
Taker easily man-handled the so-called Ultimate Warrior. He and Paul Bearer were my heroes.
yeah youre right, all those males older than twelve who boo the piss out of cena every time they see that talentless waste of time and the biggest mistake vince has ever tried to ram down a wrestling fans throat, actually love him
@dodo3104 -i know a couple of chav shitheads who hang out at the local supermarket asking people to buy cigerrettes for them, youd probably be entertained by them right?
@warriorsleftnut You better believe it! I'd rather watch a guy on drugs than Cena, and Warrior presents that effect very well when he's doing a promo, especially the ones for HO KOGAN. Then again, maybe I don't know the Ultimate Warrior as well as I thought I did. He really fits the bill of the bloodthirsty berserker type warrior who thought of nothing but victory. I miss him so much :-(
Hellwig got too much into the character. He probably really did believe he was the Warrior. When he was on shows like "Regis and Kathy Lee," he would be more himself, which was what I preferred.
Warrior got annoying when he took it all too seriously. I didn't like him that way at all. No wonder many guys around at the time were not his fans. I would not have been one, either. Bret had good insight.
Could the Ultimate Warrior have looked weaker and more helpless than he does in this video? It was the Undertaker who was truly ultimate in comparison. I saw the Warrior much more as "the Weakier."
I just loved how Paul Bearer remained in control at all times. With the Taker at his side, it was easy for him to eject an unruly guest such as the feeble-minded Warrior.
After Warrior lost his belt to Slaughter, he was slowly on his way out. The storylines for him would soon end his career.
Yes, exactly. It'd be annoying if we went to this guy's house and barged in and started yelling at him that the scripted series he was watching was fake... Wouldn't like that, would he?
No, no one would. Still, seeing the feeble Warrior stuffed in a casket was wonderful entertainment. Obviously, he was not in any real danger. Hearing Vince act as if he were was icing on the cake.
Paul Bearer and the Undertaker just had to be my heros! Together they made the perfect team for defeating that numbskull Warrior! How they bated him into the parlor for the casket trap is so precious.
Taker did all of us a favor when he threw that weakling Warrior into the casket.
Too bad they got the Warrior out. I can't stand the Warrior. Even when Warrior faced the heinous of heels, I cheered against him. He was the biggest moron.
I even hesitate to actually call that nitwit Warrior "The Ultimate Warrior" because he just was not ultimate at all unless we think of him as the ultimate idiot. Andre the Giant was more deserving of that title.
Warrior was the biggest morono as you said. He growled too much! In the ring he depended too often on clothelines, gorilla presses, and just bouncing off the ring before splashing someone. That system got boring.
It would have been better to leave him in the casket permanently.
The WWF or the WWE would always have someone whom I wanted to see pinned over and over. "Weakier" belonged on the list. I guess adding Cena would not have hurt, either.
i remember this..the one truly frightening thing from my childhood..I remember it took them practically the entire show to get him out..I thought he was dead for like 30 minutes lol
Warrior did look so natural and so rested inside the casket. Taker stuffed him into it with the greatest of ease. He and Paul Bearer did all of us a big favor.
the talk shows were the best. completely ridiculous but they set up all the conflicts for the major events, back when it was only rumble, wrestlemania, summerslam and survivor series. good times
Classic. Paul Bearer is the funniest character in wrestling history. I was young and stupid when I watched this crap. Wrestling sucks, but Bearer was hillarious. His faces are priceless.
The Undertaker did everyone a big favor when he stuffed that annoying Warrior into the deluxe casket. Paul Bearer was so clever to draw "Mr. Ultimate Warrior" into the trap. Even Macho Man seemed to anticipate something dark and very creepy. I loved hearing him say, "Ooh, yeah!" He enjoyed this sneak attack. I, did, too.
Just look at how our "Mr. Paul Bearer" twitches his face and rolls his eyes as the Ultimate Nitwit grabs his lapels. He and Undertaker immediately became my heroes!
If Warrior didn't leave, besides having a Warrior-Jake feud, they could have had a Warrior, Bret Hart, Roddy Piper & Hogan vs. Jake, Flair, Undertaker & Mountie match at Survivor Series. In the spirit of the previous Survivor Series (especially 1989 & 1990), I would announce such a Survivor Series match: "It's the Immortal Warriors vs. the Snakes of Nature".

The storylines for him would soon end his career.

u guys know its all fake ,right??
RodDeBod 2 years ago
What is the point of asking that question?
In my third paragraph, I specifically did mention that "storylines" are used. We both know this is just entertainment.
sandinyourshoes 2 years ago
Yes, exactly. It'd be annoying if we went to this guy's house and barged in and started yelling at him that the scripted series he was watching was fake... Wouldn't like that, would he?
Hulk2k6 2 years ago
No, no one would. Still, seeing the feeble Warrior stuffed in a casket was wonderful entertainment. Obviously, he was not in any real danger. Hearing Vince act as if he were was icing on the cake.
sandinyourshoes 2 years ago
What in the hell was the warrior talking about? All kids must of have been retarded in the early 90's if they cheered this shit.
mickD87 2 years ago
Love him or hate him, Paul Bearer puts on a great performance.
jericho696969 2 years ago 28
True. I loved him. He was perfect at setting up that ridiculous Warrior for the casket trap.

4:06 i did not expect that so soon creepy

Paul Bearer and the Undertaker just had to be my heros! Together they made the perfect team for defeating that numbskull Warrior! How they bated him into the parlor for the casket trap is so precious.
Taker did all of us a favor when he threw that weakling Warrior into the casket.
Har, har, hardee, har, har.

Too bad they got the Warrior out. I can't stand the Warrior. Even when Warrior faced the heinous of heels, I cheered against him. He was the biggest moron.
Dan97LHS 2 years ago
I even hesitate to actually call that nitwit Warrior "The Ultimate Warrior" because he just was not ultimate at all unless we think of him as the ultimate idiot. Andre the Giant was more deserving of that title.
Warrior was the biggest morono as you said. He growled too much! In the ring he depended too often on clothelines, gorilla presses, and just bouncing off the ring before splashing someone. That system got boring.
It would have been better to leave him in the casket permanently.
sandinyourshoes 2 years ago
It got annoying yes but john cena is almost the exact same way
warriorevh5150 2 years ago
The WWF or the WWE would always have someone whom I wanted to see pinned over and over. "Weakier" belonged on the list. I guess adding Cena would not have hurt, either.

His faces are priceless.
cadge31 3 years ago
Very true. Paul Bearer knew all too well that the Taker would always be his secret weapon for capturing that gullible Warrior.

Sure did. He wanted to see Warrior's career put to an end... and so did I. Now I want to say, "Ooohhh, yeaaahhh!"

Is Macho Man being a heel commentator here by saying "I REMEMBER WRESTLEMANIA 7!" when Warrior got sealed up here?
rlouie05 3 years ago 2
If Warrior didn't leave, besides having a Warrior-Jake feud, they could have had a Warrior, Bret Hart, Roddy Piper & Hogan vs. Jake, Flair, Undertaker & Mountie match at Survivor Series. In the spirit of the previous Survivor Series (especially 1989 & 1990), I would announce such a Survivor Series match: "It's the Immortal Warriors vs. the Snakes of Nature".
