You consider that Orwellian? You think that a company advertising the application of its products in your daily use symbolizes the dangers of government?
I think you need to do some research with your iMac on the definition of Orwellian.
That is, when you get done feeling self-important for having paid $2,500 for a circa 2005 computer with "prettied up" FreeBSD installed.
it isn't ironic at all. The mac is in there to demonstrate cross-platform compatibility. After all, Microsoft is not as evil as Apple who always think everything is about money.
Internet Explorer, Virtual PC, Windows Media Player, Microsoft Messenger, Remote Desktop, Live Mesh, Live Sync, SkyDrive.
These are all 100% FREE and 100% compatible with Mac OSX.
And there's Office Mac.
Safari sucks. I've used it on my Mac PC and my Windows PC. Uninstalled. iTunes sucks. It was a deciding factor in my wife getting a new Zune HD over another iPod product.
Quicktime is so-so, and Bonjour is meh.
I refuse to pay for MobileMe. But then I don't define myself through my wallet.
No, WM6.1 looks nothing like that. WM6.1 looks just like WM6. That is definitely windows mobile 7. Google "Windows Mobile 7" and click the first link.
I've been using Live Mesh CTP for a few months now. The service works great and my company is watching closely as it will provide us a great development platform once it releases.
It's really nice and appealing until the girl in the car shows up. What does the car audio, mobile phone, boys playing Halo3 have to do with syncing? If it all consistently synced the video of the boy jumping in the water, it would have made so much more sense. I don't get it...
Everything got a Live Mesh client running in it. it is not a "car audio". it is a car navigation system. the mobile phone is a WM 6.1 device that got its own Live Mesh client running. Halo 3 Xbox got a easy share feature with Xbox Live. since it is connected in the network the photo file shows in the "easy share" feature of that Halo 3 Xbox. i hope that makes it clear to you.
The car audio (which I think was Microsoft Sync), and Mobile phone was showing that it can sync to those devices (or will in the near future). The Halo 3 was probably that it *might* be available for Xbox 360. I'm guessing but it would make logical sense. It would run from a mobile phone running a smart phone.
Amazing. It's like a full circle from one device to another. MS should show more ads (on TV) like this. The web ads they show don't compare to the things they offer at keynotes and meetings.
Do you happen to know the exact song/soundtrack that's used?
I will try, but this is the "original cut" of the Ad, i took it from the Web 2.0 Expo keynote, cutted it, converted it under 1000k stream quality and uploaded it to YouTube. the result is the fault of YouTube Compression. i have it in Vimeo and it looks way better. will add a link later.
what a bad commercial

The point is that Live Mesh can be used with all sorts of devices, even Macs.

Yes but with WHAT limitations?! I see the MacAir using a M$ cloud service to yet another M$ product ... Zune. Seems VERY Orweilian to me.

well, safari itunes quicktime are not really services that Apple offers. Bonjour...maybe - not all that appealing. MobileMe isn't free. -.

LiveMesh is supposed to work better on Windows.
Plus, there's MS Office Windows AND MS Office Mac. But there's WordPerfect Office Windows and no WP Office Mac.

so if that is a touch dual, 400MHz, means that WM7 could run on my diamond

Its funny that theres a Apple computer in there. Whats up with that?
Kyle0David 3 years ago
Well, Live Mesh works not only with PC's, but also with Macs and mobile devices. This ad is suppose to emphasize that Macs are included as well.
Mac and mobile devices hasn't come out yet, but it will soon.
