The Caps sucked in the game 7. This year everyone knows the Capitals are better. They've beat the penguins twice already. First place in the leauge. Maybe they meet in the playoffs again, then we know for sure.

This was the best playoff series in a long long time. Either team could've won, this game 7 was somewhat of a fluke.
Pittsburgh deserved it though, when they are on, they are freaking on and fun to watch because they can be so good! They were having a good day while the Caps were having a bad day, a dangerous combination for any opponent facing this team.

The Capitals shouldn't have even made it as far as this series, they won their last series on a HUGE phantom penalty call which lead to a GWG.

This is why I LOVE them BOTH!!!! (Sidney slightly more though, cuz he has more teeth! haha)....but, at the end of the day they can both put aside the healthy rivalry (which is awesome too) and be gentlemen...

The Caps sucked in the game 7. This year everyone knows the Capitals are better. They've beat the penguins twice already. First place in the leauge. Maybe they meet in the playoffs again, then we know for sure.

This was the best playoff series in a long long time. Either team could've won, this game 7 was somewhat of a fluke.
Pittsburgh deserved it though, when they are on, they are freaking on and fun to watch because they can be so good! They were having a good day while the Caps were having a bad day, a dangerous combination for any opponent facing this team.
I'm not a complacent idiot, as a Pens fan, I can admit that Ovy is a greatplayer and I am glad that the Caps gave such an intense fight.

In my opinion,Sid is better,and yes,best team won. The Pens deserved the Cup more than any other team. We lost to the Red Wings last year (after a HUGE slump in mid season) on home ice,and beat them on away ice. Also,about Ovechkin. He's an amazing player,I will admit,just he is a PRICK off the ice and wouldn't score so many goals if he wasn't such a puck hog. Ovechkins coach doesn't even like him! He said he is irresponsible and reckless. I don't see any complaints from Byslma to Sid.

2000 shots 250 goals.......... he scores once every 8 shots......... thats a little better then average if you think that gaolies save 90% of the shots wich would be one gaol every 10 shots. (12.5% sp for ovechkin and i can name alottttt more players that have a higher percentage )

@roenic2 thats a really dumb comment. to say that this game was decided by the refs is flat our dumb. i dont care how many bad calls the refs made, the games are won or lost by players, not coaches and not refs. maybe if this game was 4-3 you would have a better argument. the Penguins usually play big in big games and unfortunately the Caps have come up short in big games over and over again.

Its tough to say which team was better. It was a pretty evenly matched series. I do believe that Ovechkin may be slightly better than Sidney Crosby, but come on. Evgeni Malkin! Clearly the best of the best!

Of course the best team won. The penguins dominted 90% of the series. The difference was Varlamov playing out of his mind. Lord knows that a goaltender can make all of the difference.
The penguins thoroughly outshot the caps in every game.

The reason the Capitals LOST is because of Varlamov... he's a rookie goalie in game 7 of the eastern semi-finals, what do you expect.. Don't act like the reason the Caps lasted til' game 7 was due to Simeon alone. The Penguins had a 33% chance of winning the entire series after game 2, but they pulled it off. The Caps will get their cup soon enough..

Is Varlamov the reason why the Penguins outshot the capitals every single game? Had it been Theodore in goals, they would have lost in 4.
Anyone who knows an ounce of hockey knows that a goaltender makes the difference, especially when your team lacks defense (which the capitals lack).

Varlamov did play well this series, but he completely shit the bed in game 7. So did the rest of the Caps. They are a very good team dont get me wrong, but when the cards are down and the game was on the line Crosby and the Pens took what was theres. But really, I think the Caps are a very good team, but the best team clearly won this series.
