I think chapie1987 is dead on. Doesnt matter what equipment you have, you need the right 'touch' to have a nice smooth sound. However, a fernades strat is far from crappy, although i prefer the older fernandes burny custom strats. and the peavey bandit has a pretty thick sound for a solid state amp if dialled in correctly. In fact, i'd choose a peavey bandit over some cheap tube amps to be honest. Very good for a solid state amp. Anyway, great skills Stu.

i don't want to discourage people looking for the tone, but i think it's mostly stu...and not the equipment. a japanese fernandes strat + a peavy bandit 112 isn't an impressive kit..(no offense). His skills on the guitar however....very impressive.

I got this playing from listening to Hendrix' and Mayer's versions (the one off Continuum) and then mixing them up in my head with some soul of my own. The guitar tone is just a Fernandes strat through a Peavey Bandit 112 transtube series amp, straight up, clean channel.
Great job, thats hard to do, some people have no idea. I can play a reasonable version of the tune, and can sing it, but not together to much going on for my damaged brain to deal with. That was super, your very talented.

I got this playing from listening to Hendrix' and Mayer's versions (the one off Continuum) and then mixing them up in my head with some soul of my own. The guitar tone is just a Fernandes strat through a Peavey Bandit 112 transtube series amp, straight up, clean channel.

Great job, thats hard to do, some people have no idea. I can play a reasonable version of the tune, and can sing it, but not together to much going on for my damaged brain to deal with. That was super, your very talented.
