  • get a cat stupid

  • You can get free buckets from bakery's and go buy a lid at home depo

  • I'm impressed! I never thought about mice contaminating with urine. Innovated application of the black light in terms of food storage.

  • Your 2-3 year food stockpile just turned into a perm stockpile :-)

Just gotta make sure they get trapped before they get to the bait.

  • get you some steel wool and some caulking, plug up anything that he can fit in, and mouse traps with peanutbutter on them works great !

  • One thing to remember is to always have mouse traps and glue boards set out for the unwanted little pests. I use peanut butter in my mouse traps. Doesn't dry out as fast as cheese and mice love peanut butter more than cheese. Suggestion for boxed and bagged foods, put them in clear plastic totes. There so many different size totes to use.

  • Wal mart super center bakeries will sell you used food grade buckets for $1. They get cake frosting in 5 &3 gal buckets and usually have a lot of them. Easy to clean out, and if my rice and oats smell like cake frosting, that's a plus in my opinion. Beats pickles anyway. Hope that helps.

  • Where did you get that hand held black light? I've never seen one before.

  • Get some plastic totes.

  • trying to recreate the plague?

  • get a cat

  • That food storage pantry was like the holy grain for all rodents man, step up the security!

  • Awesome - takes real character to show the world how you screwed up. I'm fixing my mistakes now - thank you!

  • Most of my stuff is in Mylar and buckets but this caused me to remember that I just recently stored some powdered cheese in plastic bags in my storage. Of all things...CHEESE! It's like fine dining for mice! Going to the storage now to package it properly. Thanks for the reminder to protect our investments. :)

  • @sweetsweetbonnie Depends if it's US "cheezy" or real actual "cheese". Mouse would probably be smart enough to avoid processed cheeeeze.

  • .29 Mouse Trap

  • Ive heard that mice can even eat into those rubbermade totes too. Sorry you had a problem but its good you showed what can happen. I dont suppose your food in boxes is bad if the mouse didnt get into the inner package. Your choice of course to toss it but a lot of those boxes have inner pouches. I do keep an eye out for mice inside since Ive seen a few outside. My neighbor takes care of a few farell kittiies and brags on their mousing skills.

  • Mice make a great snack on the grill. Little garlic, little butter. Turn as not to burn.

    Em Yummy!!!

    Great with Franks sauce!

  • @captosmosis I agree with the Franks sauce but I like my mice well done, burn mouse burn.

  • @captosmosis

Mice taste great, but rats are even better!!! Marinate or roll them around in hot sauce. They also make great MOUSE JERKY. Dam I starting to get hungry.

  • Thanks for sharing .........

  • Try the rodent and insect electronic repeller. Black and Decker sells them throught Home Depot. I use them and, knock on wood, no problem yet.

  • @myebay4u Hey I just picked up 4 today. prevention is key. Thanks

  • thanks for this video, its nice to see that someone on here is admitting that they are still learning and showing the consequences of not taking the exact steps one maybe should.

I am truely sorry for the loss but at least It wasnt a total loss. This video should show everyone that a good stock of traps and pestasides should be as important to them as any other part of their system.

Thanks again for the vid and I look forward to more.

  • thank you for lesson

  • Get some mouse traps too.

  • Great video.. will help me impress upon my husband why we REALLY MUST GET SOME BUCKETS!!! :D Thank ya so much!

  • if there are no pets around, I use poison.

  • Whats wrong with PETA (people eating tasty animals) of course I doubt a mouse is all that tasty...LOL. Sorry to hear about your food loss. Def. stinks. But hey, lesson learned I guess. Thanks for sharing and good to see ya back. Be safe over there on your side of town.

  • @hinckleypoland I think the problem is taken care of but I lost about $30 of food and i will leave the traps up for a couple days. Be good on the west side and be safe.

  • never thought of the light as well thanks

  • Good vid Ubran. Keep up the good work !!!! Delta69ALpha

  • Thanks...I'm getting a blue light and gonna check things out

  • Thanks...I'm getting a blue light and sonna check things out

  • @bearlysceneranch It was a black light, I got mine for like $5 to find scorpions here in AZ. but as you can see they have many uses.

  • I don't keep 20 or 30 year food storage, but I do store my grains, pastas, and dry foods in air-tight containers with 02 absorbers. I just only consider them good for 3 to 5 years. The rest of my food is essentially of the can or jar variety. Sorry to see you got a bit of an infestation, but failure is absolutely the best teacher. Good stuff!

  • @veritasfiles Failure is the first step before victory. And I just had victory with the sound of the trap snapping. Yeah. But its time to re package some food storage and not be lazy about it.

  • @Boondocksaint1745 Keep your trap set a couple of days...usually where there's one mouse, there's two!

  • @Boondocksaint1745 You got it, and everyone will eventually have some sort of problem with their food storage. If it's not this, it'll be something else. Best wishes!

  • bummer hope you can resolve the issue
