  • somebody call my mama

  • eee

  • dio io lo so che e successo e pero non si ride in queste cose perché e una tragedia e sono morte 7 persone

  • People are being very rude why didn't you just see what you just watched and your bagging about who cares about people dying and the countries name and stuff why be so mean even the people that are trying to stick up for the people who died in this crash are being rude as well if someone says something you can stick up for them but remember you might get hurt because the haters never back down and they use bad language against people by calling them something why just go away haters your being

  • Lol

  • @Benderrr111 I wont say i told you so, when you get more educated, do you not study before you type!

  • The foam has been identified as a key factor in the failure of the mission, one engineer thought it would be a huge problem but the others didn't, so they let it go anyways

  • the shuttle disaster was not caused by broken heat shields as we've been told.

the shuttle was shot down by Howard Stern.

  • amerikan useless junk that 40% catastrophic failure rate. waste of lives on amerikan junk.

  • @Ironoff It's spelled American, you fag.

  • I remember when ma brothers school was let out early cause of this, they had to check for debris.

  • my good friends mom was laurel b clark. iain is a great kid, its so sad that this happened. my heart reaches out to the other familys as well. may they rest in peace!

  • this problem was caused by an open panel in the wing of the shuttle, it heated up causing the breakup

  • @jodokastify you are stupid.

  • I'm not trying to be funny but did "crankyjay" take music from WWII and put it on here, cause that's exactly what it sounds like. So fucking tragic! Why can't stupid assholes and greedy evil FUCKS die in shit like this instead of good people! WHY ARE GOOD PEOPLE ALWAYS HURT, YET ASSHOLES LIKE CEO'S AND THE PRESIDENTS (BUSH, OBAMA, LBJ) GET TO LIVE GREAT LIVES?! WHYYYYYYYY?! I JUST CAN'T STAND THIS FUCKING WORLD ANYMORE! I CAN'T WAIT FOR 2012, & IF IT DOESN'T HAPPEN, I'M JUST GONNA KILL MYSELF!

  • hahah looks like someone taped over their daughters 3rd birthday party

  • The whole Columbia mission was one of NASA's biggest shames.

  • @SIGNALSTAT Why is there always some stupid asshole to make a comment like this!? I bet you were one of those douchebags in school who was really lame and did stupid shit just to get attention. I HOPE YOU FUCKING DIE BY SUFFOCATING ON YOUR OWN BLOOD FROM A CAR ACCIDENT, WHERE A TREE LIMB WENT THROUGH YOUR WINDOW AND PUNCTURED YOUR LUNG! YOU STUPID INSOLENT FUCK!!

  • Comment removed

  • @SIGNALSTAT Wow, you just proved my point! And "GFYS"? What, is your brain too tiny to figure out how to spell that? Hey EVERYONE, you can tell this person is a retard because they don't know how to formulate sentences, let alone have a word more than two syllables! What part of America were you brought up in? I bet it was one of those lonely, old shacks sitting in the deep south! Hell, you probably got 3 teeth, and your mother is your sister! Once again, you shed light on "retarded america"!

  • There are a lot of people arguing in the comments. Why for this vid

  • @fluttershy11 Because, unfortunately, there ARE stupid asshole fucks in this world who like to make dumbass fucking comments.

  • it wasnt caused by "pilot error" dope, it was caused by a piece of foam that blasted a hole in the wing just after lift-off

  • @33DRAGON02 I don't think a piece of foam is capable of destroying a spaceship... do you even think before typing??

  • @Benderrr111 Read about the event on Wikipedia. During launch a piece of stiff insulating foam 10" across dislodged from the ET propellant tank and hit the leading edge of the left wing, which was fronted with carbon to insulate it from the heat generated on reentry. Estimated speed of contact was about 900 mph. The craft was travelling at 1870 mph at the time. A hole in the carbon allowed excessive overheating of the fibreglass wing structure and eventual disintegration of the craft.

  • @shakeAbooty88 I just spent about 1 hour reading about this crash on Wikipedia. Much great info on there. "8:59:15 (EI+906) – MMACS informed the Flight Director that pressure readings had been lost on both left main landing-gear tires."-wikipedia, things like that. I'm back here now looking for amateur footage.

  • @clintonearlwalker Keep at it. I'll send you a whole lot of links later. I have a three day party coming up and have to prepare!!

  • @shakeAbooty88 Oh, and the construction was more aluminium than anything else.

    Sorry.

  • @shakeAbooty88 Got ya, I found a very good amateur vid of this, it clearly shows Colombia shedding debris well before it gets to Texas. I just finished a cigarette, and came back in to look up the melting point of aluminum. Wiki said the leading edge of the wing was subjected to temps of about 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit at some periods.

  • @shakeAbooty88 The video is entitled "Columbia reentry video" uploaded by "nomie1961" if you haven't seen it.

  • @clintonearlwalker I'll look at it for sure. The NASA site is incredible. You can go to the shuttle missions page and on to any particular mission. There is also a hefty report compiled some time after the Columbia mission that is interesting as much as a dissection of the culture of the time as the unremedied engineering faults.

  • @clintonearlwalker Just looked at your channel. Made me laugh. Have to go will get back.

  • going to outter space is so stupid

  • @fressen you are obviously ignorant and don't understand the significance of the space program. I'm not even going to attempt to argue with you because it would be pointless.

  • @fressen how?

  • I had gotten up early that morning hoping to watch the Columbia landing with my 5-year-old son. Just as I turned on the tv we both heard the great boom! We ran to the door and saw the white streaks breaking up as they went over head. In my heart I knew what had happened and was literally sick to my stomach about it! So sorry Columbia crew and families.

  • What a shit - Flying in space!! Why?

  • dat a sad song

  • I was in the parking lot of the Pepsi Plant in Mesquite watching it. I was also out on the football field at Lakeland High School, Fla. Watching the 1986 Challenger explosion.

  • Some interesting coincidences about the shuttle columbia...day of disaster was 2/1/03 (33) On this day there is 333 days left in the year. The shuttle was scheduled to land on runway #33 in florida. The shuttle burnt up over the 33rd parallel.

Was it an illuminati burnt offering?

  • @WSD333 LOL, 2/1/03 is not 33, you cant make up a stat by combining numbers like that. the 2/1actual means 32 days and the 03 means 2003 years.

  • @WSD333 oh hush.

  • @WSD333 just shut up you moron

  • I think that little girl was pissed that her Saturday morning cartoons were interupted buy the constant coverage by all the channels showing how to get rid of two of the seven crew that were being very difficult during a debreifing on the way back to many many debreifings about what they transported to the spacestation and what the purpose of their particular flight was really for...............yea you gid rid of all of them.

  • @godhatesfagsable Yeah, well you can go tell them I said God Bless them when you get there, if that's the case you fucking idiot, stop bitching about people attacking you a get a fucking life.

  • The disaster was due to a peice of foam from the external fuel tank falling off ,damaging the left wing and the thermal protection system which shields it from heat generated with the atmosphere during re-entry

    Just so everyone knows.

  • @VuneAlpha12345 dude, this was caused when some thermal tiles broke off, cause gasses to enter the spacecraft, riping it apart from the inside.noob.

  • @3000legoloveruh your the noob. A piece of foam struck the leading edge of the left wing. Since Columbia's protective tiles on its wing were damaged, some of the hot plasma gases leaked inside the wing. The high heat melted support structures, which caused the wing to break off due to the huge aerodynamic forces on it. This of course changes the aerodynamic profile of the craft, as well as shifting its center of gravity.

  • @VuneAlpha12345 i watched a program showing what exactly hapened.

  • Comment removed

  • @VuneAlpha12345 The leading edge of the wing has no tiles.

  • @aimhigh59 Ya they do. on the bottom there are tiles covering the whole craft.

  • @VuneAlpha12345 Yes on the bottom but not thr leading edge of the wing. Tiles had absolutly nothing to do with this accident and you will never find any legitimate info that will tell you so. This accident is 8 yrs old and is well documented.

  • @aimhigh59 You said there is and I quote "you will never find any legitimate info that will tell you" so how do you know your info is right.

Also can we please stop this conversation about who is right and who is wrong? Can we say both of our facts are correct? I wish not to continue this.

  • @VuneAlpha12345 Just find a picture of the orbiters wing. There are no tiles on the leading edge. The wings leading edge is made of the same material as the nose and chin of the orbiter, Its reinforced carbon carbon or RCC panels. This is where the hole was formed. I just commented on your comment which said tiles were damaged which lead to the accident.

  • @3000legolover Cant fit in 1 comment so here is the rest.

This sudden change, combined with the high velocity caused it to jolt out of its stable position. The structure of the orbiter was not strong enough to withstand this jostling, and high-velocity winds were also now hitting the orbiter in places where it was not designed to withstand the forces. This simply ripped it to pieces.

  • @3000legolover The accident had nothing to do with tiles...

  • I remember watching TV the day the news broke. If there is one thing tragedies like this have in common, it's that they all leave you in shock and disbelief.

  • Do not let them fool you........This is '''only''' an American tragedy. Is not and will never will be a tragedy for the rest of the world.

  • ........Fuck

  • when they used cassette tapes in the video cameras, youd rewind/fast forward/etc to do your camerawork. looks like they didnt have time to fas forward

  • @crankyjay I do believe your brother in law captured the start of the breakup!

  • This happened on my 12th birthday and I will NEVER forget that day. RIP astronauts who died in Columbia and Challenger!

  • I never forget this accident and brave fighters.

  • hhaha!! should of gotten into the escape pod you astro faggots

  • @plotchickens Go die in a hole, seriously.

  • @plotchickens Your a fucking cunt

  • at least i never crashed a space shuttle! i submit to you that the pilot is the real cunt of this story - allowing his crew to perish in the fires of reentry!

  • @plotchickens You seek attention don't you?

  • no - i wish you faggots would stop crying and leave me fucking alone

  • @plotchickens i read your comments and your right haha

  • @plotchickens The shuttle 'broke up' upon reentry. It wasn't due to 'pilot error', you idiot. Possibly, you could try to understand what you're talking about 'before' you comment on something? Also, if you want us 'faggots to leave you alone', then don't post stupid comments in public forums, you fool.

  • er yes actually, pilot error, because they let the onboard computer steer the ship into a breakup because it was reacting to the drag caused by the burning wing! if the pilot had taken over sooner he could have done something about it.

  • @plotchickensNo, the pilot couldn't have done anything about it, because the heat shield (that was damaged during take off) was compromised, thus they couldn't withstand reentry into the Earth`s atmosphere. Not to mention, once the Shuttle reenters it's essentially a 'flying brick', there isn't much the pilot can do (it's not an air plane). Anyhow, it wasn't pilot error you idiot. Respond if you wish, I won`t .

  • that's because you're a stupid fucking nigger ...

  • @plotchickens OMG

you are racist to black people, astronauts and your a sick cruel person you enjoys peoples deaths.

Some day i hope you die a painfull death now why dont you just go get life.

  • @pillsareyummy Flying brick refers to its descent rate not its ability to maneuver in the atmosphere. Its plenty agile to fly like an airplane.

  • @aimhigh59 he flying brick designation has to do with it's aerodynamic characteristics, it definitely doesn't fly like an air plane (or a glider, since it isn't powered when it returns). However, I'm no expert in this, so...

  • @aimhigh59 I had just had to... Actually, I'm white. However, you are a punk who hides behind a keyboard...

  • @pillsareyummy You had to had to what ? I dont care what color you are. Your comment has nothing to do with mine.

  • @aimhigh59 My comment was directed toward Plotchickens; not you. Oops.

  • @plotchickens the day we meet, and I hope it'll be soon, I wil make you suffer for this.

  • @plotchickens the name of your country just sounds gay

  • @mrfunkeymunkey1 you do realize that hes trolling because yall keep responding to him, and thats exactly what he wants

  • @mrfunkeymunkey1 WHAT?! WHO THE FUCK CARES WHAT THE NAME OF SOMEONES COUNTRY IS?! JUST FUCKING DIE ALREADY SO THE REST OF THE WORLD CAN SLEEP MORE, KNOWING THAT 1 MORE ASSHOLE IN THE WORLD IS DEAD! WHY COULDN'T HITLER HAVE CREATED A MACHINE THAT DETECTS MORONS LIKE YOU, AND THEN JUST KILL YOU! I WISH HITLER HAD KILLED ALL THE FUCKTARDS LIKE YOU INSTEAD OF JEWS, GAYS, BLACKS... you know the rest! WHY CAN'T ANYTHING HAPPEN TO BAD/ STUPID PEOPLE, INSTEAD OF GOOD/SMART PEOPLE!

  • @Plaguemix It's the internet. Calm the fuck down.

  • @tgringe You're smoking crack right? compare NASA's budget to our healthcare system, we talking about 300 or so million dollars compared to BILLIONS and BILLIONS

  • it was shot dow by the U.S govement

  • Crap that thing was moving fast. Faster than what i would imagine...

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand its gone..

  • burn baby burn,

    disco inferno!!!!

  • @plotchickens people died asshole

  • ummm .... people die every day? it's just usually not as hilarious as a Shuttle Accident :D

  • @plotchickens wow u like people dying

  • @plotchickens You should show some respect, I understand that people like watching amazing footage but they usually don't poke fun at it. Do you think its fun watching people die in 9/11. I bet you just love watching the towers fall down with thousands of people still inside. Yeah, thats a really funny one to watch.

  • I am just messing with the losers head

  • @plotchickens Theres a time and place. This is not it. When a death is involved then you have to show respect and not poke fun at it.

  • well I hear you, but I just don't agree .... death's a bit of a joke, and the good news is it's on all of us. i just can't take it seriously.

  • @plotchickens So you thought 9/11 was funny? 3000+ deaths. Or the Boxing day tsunami? 200,000 deaths. Or the earthquake and tsunami in Japan that has just happened? 12000 deaths confirmed, even more people missing.

Are all these deaths a joke? People died prematurely, including children. They could have lived for much longer. This is not a joke. How would you like to suffer and die in a similar disaster? I would show you respect. I almost died last year in a climbing accident, its not a joke.

  • blah blah blah ... you should shut up, you'd never know if someone else has 'almost died' or has had a lot of friends die. Do you know me? no. I deal with a lot of death in my life, I just have a different view on it. Your fuckin' problem if you can't understand that not everyone is the same. I refuse to make my life a big demonstration of someone else's idea of "appropriate" feelings.

  • @plotchicken I'm sorry to hear about that, but how much respect do you show your friends when they die? Does it make it any different if its someone you don't know?

  • @Lusjnie my thinking is that in the end its a personal decision ... no matter which way you look at it. Does making a show of your feelings mean they're more sincere? I dont think so ... mourning is (for me anyway) a private or personal thing to do. maybe I'm peculiar that way xD i'm just uncomfortable with using the same old expressions or phrases that people always use during sad events because it sounds so predictable and insincere. to each their own I suppose

  • whats with random picture of girl in a room at the end?

  • @xboxkillaftw i think it was a home movie poorly edited

  • @dabigguy6267 probably

  • @xboxkillaftw probably shot on a video camera. My camera goes straight to the next video after the video

  • @xboxkillaftw I have answered your question as best they would let me

  • @chrstphrharp1 what does that mean? who is they?

  • @xboxkillaftw It was from a camcorder, and I guess he took too much footage out.

  • @xboxkillaftw childhood memories behing erased for columbia

  • A complete disaster and tragedy. Mt thoughts are with everyone effected.

  • its a conspiracy

  • @atown327 yay!!!!!!! everyone loves conspiracy theories

  • @atown327 What evidence do you have to make a claim of the disaster beiing part of a conspiracy? I love a good conspiracy story but there has to be reasonable evidence.

  • @Lusjnie i know people on the inside

  • @atown327 Fair enough, so what evidence have you got to offer?

  • @Lusjnie Its a sekrit ; )

  • @plotchickens you fucker

  • I am praying for another explosion

  • @fasfsdfasd he is right thought

  • HAHAAHAH there all dead

  • @TatianaSword Ur a idiot fuckin moron,

  • @fasfsdfasd Amen to that.

  • i live near by there... i was home that day but to young to know what had just happened then later found out my grandpa died at the same time as the accident :( RIP Grandpa and RIP all the crew of columbia

  • C'mon guys. This is not the place to discuss those topics. And let's get the thing right. A big price of foam that protects the main fuel tank fell off during the ascent from Earth and struck the left wing. Upon re-entry the incredible heat from the friction with the air got inside the left wing, causing it to weaken and eventually collapse. Remember how fast that thing is going. In this vid it was probably around 150,000-180,000 feet above ground, and you can see it moving at incredible speed.

  • I remember the morning that the space shuttle exploded. I was asleep in my bed, and then I heard a big boom that hurt my ears so bad and had the whole house shaking like it was an earthquake. I was in East Texas, and not directly in Dallas where it happened. The sound could be heard for miles around. I will never forget that day. I hate that it was unfortunate for the shuttle crew.

  • wow i live in plano,tx and i didnt notice

  • Got what they were looking for i guess.

  • @mikeygeneral HAVE A SHORT AND PAINFUL LIFE! :)

  • @NoirNG

    I won't, But a know a couple people that did : )

  • It looked like a kamehameha up until 0:08

  • I watched this live and my heart just sank. Still hurts to watch it now.

  • @TheCOWWWWW Are you mental?

  • @TheCOWWWWW yep, you'r mental

  • @hfj222fdf man you shoudnt say nothing like this on here what there family members look at what you said if it was me id hunt you down for the rest of my life to make you pay for that................

  • either it is just me or you can see the Columbia Explode while entering the atmosphere.

  • isthay isway orriblehay. iway eelfay adbay orfay ethay eoplepay owhay iedday andway eirth amiliesfay.

  • gj Foam.

  • The music just makes it even sadder

  • turn da music off pls kthx

  • @tehuan1 thats why your a dickless loser! prolly a fuckin raghead.

  • @tehuan1 do you think you are cool or something, no youre just an asshole

  • @HellWasBorn1987 Ya haha im sure people will laugh when you die. Least these people died trying to do something with their lives. Im sure you'll die being a worthless pos.

  • Comment removed

  • @rusticgt as well as yourself, your as much as a fuckin nobody than the next guy, difference is that im sure more will rejoice when you go!:)

  • @jretch that was meant for @HellWasBorn1987.

  • @jretch It's nice to see you're insults on me after I already stop commenting, just a little grammar lesson You're is the proper word, not "your" but it's ok, one day you will learn "kiddo"

  • @HellWasBorn1987 fail troll, go back to the sand box kiddo

  • @tgringe Us Americans are sick of you ass hats in the UK and Canada telling us we need a national health care system!

No we do not need a national health care system, our good old US Government screws up enough shit without controlling more and waste trillions of our hard earned money. Everything America's government provides the people cost 3 times more than it would in the private sector. So why don't you assholes in the UK and Canada just STFU and mind your own god dammed business !

  • @Megabyte4747 sir, you freaking out like this on the internet is kind of immature. I'm Canadian, it's good to have free health care but i don't have anything to say about the American health system since i do not live in the united states. calling us assholes is a different story though, most of the people who say "America sucks cause they don't have free health care" are generally stupid. in my opinion being able to get medical help when needed no matter the price is more important than not

  • @belial1237 Well unlike most in Canada and the UK you seem to have a brain. You have not seen all the comments I see from Canadians and Europeans that I see about America's health care system. I have every right to freak out over the attitude of arrogant assholes looking down their nose at us telling us what kind of system we should have. Like if your health care system works for you, its fine with me. Its not my place to tell others how to live.

  • Does anyone know the name of this song, i think its call "dance of" something but idk, anyone know?

  • shit. i was 2 in 2003 i never rememberd a damn thing

  • @shipwreck911 I was 7, and since i learned about stuff like this from 9/11, i was crying.

  • @RenyRuIez i agree

  • shit. i was 3 in 2003 i never rememberd a damn thing

  • Norway? C'mon dude.

  • I'm sick of immature people arguing about science vs religion. SHUT UP! I'm a Baptist Christian myself but you all are just idiots to waste your time arguing when there's is no point to. RIP flight crew victims of the Space Shuttles Columbia and Challenger

  • It's so weird to watch, when you know that there are live people in that shuttle.

  • соболезную.

  • I reckon they'd have been OK if they hadn't taken that concert piano.

  • @mikeshepherd wow your fucking hilarious dude. I guess shit talking on youtube is the difference between comedians and astronauts..
