most of the tribes of mexico were for better or worst allied to the triple alliance even after getting slaughtered by the Spanish it was the states of western mexico and talxcala that hated them.

Rome was indeed not made of losers but were not loved by the other people around them and not a civilization to aspire towards any more then the Aztecs who like the Romans did amazing things with very little!

The Aztecs which were a Confederacy of three tribes mostly lived in central mexico and were known for there blood lust but never the less they made amazing works of art and in less then a century or two went from a semi nomadic culture to a people who created one of the most beautiful city's of the medieval world.

so why is it pathetic in a time were non originality rules and most people don't know the Maya from the Aztec to want to keep there artistic tradition alive.

The Mayan are the ones who created the original CALENDAR, then the Aztecs adopted the calendar by translating the exact same meaning to their language by using animals. The Aztecs were Indian tribes.

So yes, this Calendar is related to the Mexican culture.
