  • Brilliant as always but 0:24 takes the cake!

  • Very good, Henry. What else are you doing these days? UNT seems very far away.

  • I don't think enough people see the absolute genius this.... Pure, genius....maybe it's because i'm a musician...i duno.. this is so great.

  • Hermeto Pascoal would be proud! Now can you do a Tony Blair speech, please?

  • This is amazing! How long did this take you?

  • @MW2xxnoobxx Such insight and such clear reasoning in your comment. Thanks for your highly intelligent thought.

  • @sailingandmusic at least the dude was straightforward, brief, and honest.

  • @MW2xxnoobxx are you high?

  • @MW2xxnoobxx Do you even know what's going on in this video? It's pretty insane............

  • @MW2xxnoobxx,

Do you even understand what's going on here? Apologies if you're registered deaf obviously

  • watch?v=fsufCAtvY4M

  • I been trying to find this for soooooooooo long!!!! I finally found it again!!! best video ever!!! absolutely genious

  • I think I found Obama's REAL birth certificate.

    SEE SpiritOfTruth(dot)me

  • the guy who wrote the piano score is pro

  • How did he become the american president??????

  • Haha, reverse autotune!

  • its scary this man was in charge for 8 long years and people wonder y we're fucked. obama isn't doing great but seriously after bush a poodle would be a step up

  • Works so well on so many levels - key, rhythm, repetition, rests and SO WELL on what is being said to how it is being PLAYED.

The essence of political BS reduced and exposed by music. Brilliant!

Every politician should have a musician/composer satirist. All presidential debates should be followed by a musical commentary/replay, not the standard newscaster rehash.

  • Beautiful work!

The legacy of the great Hermeto Pascoal!

He did this thing once with a french actor. I wonder if someone have it.

    The bush swing!!

    Awesome!

  • Amazing.................pure jazz !

  • just brilliant

  • the piano´s a bit too loud, but still an awesome video! :D

  • GENIAL!!!!!

  • Great idea and great executed. Henry Hey must have used some voice Pitch Correction to make it work

  • Awesome!! That man can swing!! (I meant Henry of course!! ;-)

  • WAAAUUUUUU!!! Exellent!!!!

  • Did Goober say, 'How did this president compare to other presidents? heh heh Dat would be one prez behind Millard Fillmore...5th worst. Makes me wanna write a Bush Song...oh, i already did. Maybe we should collaberate and have a Bush Album.

  • "not having weapons of mass destruction"

    so amazing....

  • What key was he in?

    Minor? Flat?

  • @5random1 it changes keys like every few seconds

  • Still fantastic.

  • i want to see the sheet music for this!

  • I LOVE IT!!! HOW do i get a copy of the tune without the speech! Seriously!

  • "Theee ... onethingabouthepresidency ........" classic ....

  • it sounds like he is really singing.

  • Brilliant indeed! It would sound even better if performed with a real piano instead of with midi.

  • lol....amazing wow, great work!

  • Henry Hey was a curious cat at NT. Always oodles of talent, with his personality maybe getting in the way a bit. But this is a work of pure genius. I wonder if a non-musician can even discern what he has done here. There are imitators, but I haven't seen anything in the same ballpark as this. Somebody should be writing him a check. Where's his check for this?

  • @Toddobvious

North Texas grad? Absolute, pure genius. I've always felt good music mimics speech, but this really highlights that. (And I think is a good reason why modern contemporary music is not well liked by most people - much of it doesn't really speak in an understandable language.)

  • Definitely want to hear the piano score without Bush over it, haha!

  • beautiful music - the lyrics could use some work, though ;)

  • its rare I like jazz. this time i love it

  • Brilliant bloody brilliant

  • wonderful!!!!

  • 0:21 and 0:32 had me laughing the most! Very Brilliant Henry.

  • Great Job Henry!

  • PLEAAASE do one on Obama

  • lololol. damn, so funny. I cant get enough of this. Great job!

  • hahahhahaha I love it!

  • this is so hard to play it exactly on his words...damn great!

  • bush. never again. go home.

  • great!!! like Hermeto Pascoal...

  • this is awesome, does anybody else do this type of thing? and is there a name for it?

  • there's a few people. this one is good: watch?v=5zDrmOkzS58&feature=email I don't know if there's a name

  • Very creative!! Fantastic!!

  • This is fantastic. Ingenious.

  • brillant!

of course not mr. m.f. bush...

  • I was hoping for more high kicks in fishnet stockings.

  • hahaha

  • :))

  • Every time I look at Bush I wan to hurl. Someone please get me a barf bag.

  • I guess when you lie so much, you have to get musical.

  • amazing!

  • lol george bush the musical

  • more!!!! getting better and better

  • This is unique... Bravo and thank you! :)

  • I agree with all the comments that directly precede mine. I hope to meet Henry Hey and buy him dinner or something. This is up there with those "shreds" videos (Eric Clapton Shreds, Carlos Santana Shreds, etc.) as the funniest and most utterly brilliant stuff I've ever seen on YouTube or anywhere else. I forwarded this link to tons of friends.

  • My gut hurts from laughing. This video never gets old. : D

  • Unbelievably great!!!!! Fantastic.

  • this is brilliant

  • The piano audio is a bit too loud in compear to bush

  • Oh that's terrible. You're so right! That's what the gaping hole in my life was, I couldn't hear Bush prattling on either!

  • No wonder jazz is purely American. Ha haaa!

  • This video needs to be seen by more people. Pass it along!

  • Genial!!!

  • That´s really great, please do another version where you keep the voice a little higher so it comes through clearly what he is saying, then it is perfect.

  • sheer brilliance!! congrats

  • Henry you are brilliant!

  • Amazing!!! Genius!!!

  • OMG! This is hilarious! Awsome!

  • You are a genius musician and artist.

  • These are so brilliant. PLEASE make more. You do a great job with speeches that are kinda nonsense, but I'd like to see some more upbeat speeches too at some point.

    Anyway, MORE PLEASE.

  • Really really good man. But only one thing. put the music behind, the voice. but really good. cant hear him too much

  • This is a piece of Art! BRAVO!

  • Brilliant once agian, mate! Keep em' coming! Thanks for sharing your gift. I'll keep checking back now that I'm subscribed.

  • funniest thing ever (from a musician's point of view at least)

  • LMAO oh my god I laughed so hard. what an awesome video

    5/5

  • someone has too much time on his hands......lol this must have been a painstaking job

  • Not-ha-ving-Wea-pons-of-Mass-De-struc-tion...! Haha!

  • YES!

  • Congratulations for being SO amazingly , fantastically musical! Bravissimo! :D

  • Is it all gone? I can't see anything.

  • I've seen a few vids like this but this is the best, partly coz it's an actual composition and not just a peanut gallery/greek chorus. Also each frequency that comes out of his mouth is worked into the song, it's not just the rythem with spoken word ala William Shatner.

  • Henry Hey, you are a genius. This is by far one of the most extraordinary things I've ever heard - so much more difficult than the other two. Would love to hear it with the piano taken down just a little bit - sometimes miss a few sentences and what you do with the music is so tied to the subject matter as well as the rhythm. I'll never forget what you did with "... and I look forward to having that job" on McCain Palin...

  • this is awesome! :DDDDDD

  • Not having weapons of mass destruction, was a significant disappointment? We should have been glad there were no weapons and stayed out of Iraq, instead of wanting to go to war with them so bad that we made up all kinds of chit to get in.

  • I did an Obama one, inspired by this - check my vids :)

    Thanks

    GMF

  • Hey Henry. New art. Well done. Did the voice trigger the track melody? So ridiculous. HA!

(Oh yeah. "WE should try this "on" Obama."

    Huh?

  • We should try this on Obama!

  • fuck bush

  • ahh Bush

May Allah bless his ass with a thousand penises.

    And great piano skillz.

  • Magnificent! Did the president's decisions have the impact that he thought...THEY WOULD!!!

    Such art!

  • I saw a couple videos Henry did for Palin and Mccain, but as funny as they were, they didn't make me drown in histeria like this one. Every note is spot on with Bush's speaking, and as much as I hated his goodbye speech, I didn't think I would watch it more than ten times. My favorite part (in synch with this piano work) is when he says, "You stand by your decisions and you do your best and explain why you made the decisions you made." I even typed it to that tune.

  • Amazing! How did I miss this one?

  • I've done one - called YES WE CAN - check it out :)

  • Brilliant and original. I have to try this!

    So great!

  • BAHAHA AMAZING!! i love the instrumental parts in between

  • How the heck did you do that? So clever and so well executed.

  • I agree with all of the above...Freaking incredible and brilliant and utterly confusing as well

  • That was ingenious.

    Absolutely Gershwinesque.

    The pianist deserves world recognition.

    Hail Hail Henry Hey!

  • Absolutely brilliant. Genius. Loved it. Best thing I've seen for a long long time.

  • All this time and we never knew that he was just a musical genius. I like the rest of the world must feel some dumb.

  • How the f***ing hell did you make this? This is freaking brilliant!

  • knee slappin, rib splitting, gut busting....laugh, I thought I'd die.

  • Please make more of these with other Presidents!

  • speech has pitch ?! I just didn't know

  • i duno why this is so damn funny lol, like

osocuteagent99 said, the "weapons of mass destruction" bit, is awesome lol

  • "..not having weapons of mass destruction",,, was a disappointment

  • LOL!!!!!

  • You missed the entire point of the video.

  • Stupid lol

  • these Henry Hey videos are absolutely brilliant.

  • i think bush might be a pretty fun drinking buddy, despite being a sub par president.

  • BRILLIANT! GENIUS!

  • he would sound so dumb without the music, he has no idea what he's saying, great transposing. Is this the same guy who did the palinsong?

  • Henry Hey you are my favorite guy on You Tube, hands down! Please keep them coming.

  • I've never heard a president speak with so much jazz.

  • I'm so impressed with this. Good job!!

  • Unbelievably brilliant. Great composing! Super impressive!

  • the one thing about the presidency is that uh you ca- you can ma- only make decisions you know when the uh information at hand you know you don't get to have information after you've made the decision that's not the way it works and y-y-you stand by your decisions and do your best to explain why you made the decisions you made. Um. there've been dissappointments EVERYONE CONTRIBUTE I'M TOO LAZY TO FINISH IT

  • This is so incredibly clever!! Great job!

  • I wish all presidential news conferences had a jazz soundtrack. It would make them a little less annoying.

  • there is a lot of talent playing here

  • Amazing! A good jazz musician can jam even the most arhyhtmic person into coherence! That does not include the content of W's speech however.

  • this is too brilliant for words.

  • I am transcribing RIGHT NOW !

Damn you made Bush look REEEEAAAL GOOD.

  • You are my hero! This is SO brilliant!

  • that is hilarious and really sharp. i'd like to see an entire movie soundtracked like this.

  • Ha! Tritone at 0:12

  • Screw bush for what he did during his tenure as the President of the wonderful country of USA !

  • fucking great!

  • Who knew the former president was such an accomplished jazz improvisationalist. He needs a new piano player though--his current one is barely keeping up.

  • That's simply genius!

  • Whoa!!!!! this is beautiful.

  • This is so good...

  • brutal... i think the original is better- I mean, if you can't get some laughs out of his speech- you certainly won't with that music drowning him out

  • Hilarious and brilliant. Thank you so much for making a lousy situation funny. As for the mix - who in the WORLD would ever want GWs voice "featured"???? Its perfect exactly as it is. Mahalo from Maui!

  • Thelonious Monk dudes!

  • Genius!

I was thinking more Mose Alison on Red Bull than Zappa.

    Well done.

  • Zappa is the first person I thought of too. This is great!

  • Short term history!!

  • Oh my god...

    It's beautiful.

  • Comment removed

  • amazing!!

  • the little riff while bush is thinking (around seconds 32-40) is so funny. the whole thing is brilliant.

  • FANTASTIC!

    HEEELARIOUS!

Makes me think of Zappa's eyebrows.

Can't wait to spread this around.

    Kudo's x 10,

    : Juanita

  • i don't mind the mixing....the voice volume being slightly drowned accentuates the vapid drone of his rhetorical scat. I'm promoting this genius work of satirical art to all my friends!! (and you should pitch it to comedychannel) bravo!

  • The instrument tracks are a little too loud so that it's hard to hear the voice track, but I like this a lot.

  • Top job!!!

  • incredible demonstration of both jazz musical creativity and political rhetoric.wow, wow, wow. scatalogical* genius!! How Jon Stewart never picked up on this, I'll never know.

  • A friend send me a link to this so i try to watch and i was like "the piano is too loud can't hear what he's saying" and then i realize the piano is imitating him XD

  • That was awesome!!! I've always wanted to make a song based on the intonnation and pitches of someone's voice. Nicely done!!!!!

  • Has Jerry heard this? Maybe he could arrange a horn section version...

  • I've watched this so many times this week. Very inventive with the pickups in between W's fragments.

  • this is *amazing*. but the balance isn't quite right, piano's a bit too loud, you can't quite hear what he is saying - could you remix and repost? brilliant as usual though.

  • Fantastico.

  • Hell Yeah!!!
