now thats an ace worth talking about! i'm tired of seeing everyone stoked over the 150-200ft aces. I mean they are cool but shit doesn't take that much to hit one of those, but this is tight
Looks legit to me. It seems the compression artifacts on the video seems to be leading some others to think there are people hiding in the bushes. LOL. Seems way more reasonable that it was a live ace caught on film than the work it would have taken to fake it.
@MrHiHaterz I don't understand how the shot is sooooo crazy that it MUST be fake. What person throwing from the bushes...? Better question, who the fuck cares?
Not only is it a hyzer like ronthewhip said but there are wind currents. If you have played enough disc you know what wind can do to the flight path of a disc. Looks to me like a legit ace and awesome shot man.
haha, i can't believe anyone thinks this is fake. its called a hzyer people, the disc ran out of speed and spiked hard at the end. awesome shot brother!
i bet those doubters have not played much golf, or have not seen skilled people throw. last summer i picked up two aces over 450'. 465 on flat ground, and 485 down the mountain. haters make me laugh...
@ronthewhip i play alot of discgolf and it is absolutely obvious its fake lol. the first time i saw this video i thought it was real too but when u watch closer and replay it over and over right before it goes in u will notice someone throwing in a disc from the bushes. its very well edited tho and props to this guy for fooling so many people
How was the disc supposed to fly then? Dead strait for over 100 meters? doesn't happen pal. I am still curious as to how you can claim to play a lot, yet not understand the simple physics of disc flight. Perhaps you play a lot, but you've just convinced me that you are a terrible disc golfer. In my opinion, the disc behaved naturally and as expected and there is no evidence to support your theory of people hiding in the bushes...
@ronthewhip you sound like a complete jackass right now. i know that a disc fades at the end of its flight. this disc was taking a normal flight path and it was a great throw by whoever threw this but if you werent a complete retard you could just watch closely right before the disc goes into the catcher and realize that there is someone in a white shirt who just appears in the bushes and throws a disc in. the flight path even goes downward slightly which u should still be able to notice that to
also, note the change in trajectory (more steep at the last 2 sec when guy in white shirt shows up) - no doubt, stitched together - still a great throw but not an ace
@DrGfromMD Great catch. This is definitely fake. I think its's funny how he is still claiming that he made it with all of his, "i was having doubts" comments. It's rather cute.
Wow, I used to think this was real but if you keep clicking at 0:13 you can tell it was a putt thrown and stitched to the drive video. The video even skips a little. well done though.
The supposed 'man in the bush' is behind the basket yet the disc hits the front of the chains which would be a hell of a trick shot for our hidding freind. Its gotta be real. Nice shot !!
WAIT! I take back my last comment--I totally do think this is fake now.
If you watch closely, right before the disc goes into the basket, the man in the bushes appears out of nowhere; it is two shots edited together. Clearly the thrower made an awesome birdy shot, but they had a guy throw it in for the video. Watch the last second of the video 10 times and you'll see.
Yes, discs do fly like that. Most people haven't thrown off a hill so you don't really see the drastic change once it starts to run out of forward momentum. You see it a little bit, but when there's another 50 feet to drop it's readily apparent.
"Guy in the bushes"? Unless disc golfers look like crappy Youtube video blur's then this video is real. Also, if you think that disc's cant change direction like that then you probably dont play disc golf much...
There definitely is a dude in the bushes--that "blur" appears in one frame, and lasts the rest of the video. Watch it 5 times over, you'll see it's a dude tossing the disc in.
Watch the video again, right near the end you can see someone throw the disc in the basket. I'm not trying to be a cock, it really was nice editing, it has fooled a lot of people.
You have a close look, where you think there is someone in the bushes, thats the camera bluring as it follows the disc. Theres about a 1000 throws to get this ace, and it really a was a fluke that the someone had a cam onsite. Whats laughable is that people refuse to accept it because they think editing is so easy & people are so dishonest it MUST be a fake.
Get your editing software out & look closely frame by frame.... all youll see is your own rorschach test
hey dumbo, its called gravity you stupid tart! The disc is at a what... 15 meter height? When the discs spin starts to decrease, it turns left, and since it turns left heavily (which is what a worn overstable driver does; straight first, then crash straight down left). It increases in speed, and it turns more and more, until it hits the ground. Jackass
Alright man if you are sooooo sure it was an ace then what is with the sudden change of direction in the disc? or the guy in white standing in the bushes at the end who throws a hard hyzer in the basket to mimic the drive you made. I throw leopards and have gotten 3 aces with them and they never fade out that fast. Plus to get a leopard 367 feet you have to chuck it idc if your going downhill or not its obvious that shot was gonna be short. Nice editing and shot LOL.
@jrod17320 Don't hate man, its clearly real you never loose sight of the disc, and people with big arms can through a mid-range that far downhill. I can't quite get it 367, but an easy 300-330 (and i've only been playing 1yr), I play all the time with people that have the abuility to do that with a fairway driver or mid-range but haven't had the privlage to see an ace on a shot that far. Enjoy the Disc courses, and spread the love!
Tiresome reading all the doubters, but i guess it was a great drive incredibly caught on camera. Here throwing an Innova Leopard, I have since aced the hole again with a Discraft Flash.
You are a fool, that's not the dsic changing angle, that's a perfectly normal hyzer flip s curve, the disc is supposed to do that, and the disc doesn't speed up it just starts to fly downhill, sweet ace, that's a good distance for one.
