How Do Steam Engines and Diesel Engines Work?

@MJohnny05 all steam engines (well...except bizarre ones like steam turbine engines) have pistons and cylinders, it's just on engines like thomas the cylinders are between the frames so you can't see them

Otherwise it'd just look weird.

Whenever I use a Class 20 in Trainz, I run it with the snub nose first, cab behind because of the way Diesel was. lololo.

And who says Hit knows nothing about Railways? :/ Hit knows plenty about railways; it's just that they can't always incorporate it due to the style of writing to include Morales. A very impressive learning segment; I was quite impressed they went through with showing us Diesel is a Diesel-Electric since a lot probably just think the Diesel is all he needs when infact the Diesel is used to generate the Electricity to make him move; best learning segment ever! :)

And I think if there wasn't so much pressure to ram morals down fans' throats, they'd be able to research railways as much as they did with this segment and produce what the Awdrys could: a great story with railway realism and a great moral :). Because, let's face it, there can br morals everywhere and you don't have to told about them as most realise them subconciously :)

Never knew what the dome did, or how a diesel worked :P Thumbs up to HIT on this, give the series this realism and everyone'll be happy.

Next time they should explain why the engines are fitted with those annoying suspensions though :P

@TheBlueE2 Yeah I knew Diesel was a Diesel-Electric but not many would think of Diesel like that and would just assume the Diesel fuel moves him when in fact both Electricity and Diesel come into play; even older viewers can learn from this segment; not just young children:)
