I had sweaters to hide my bruises.Even then I remember other people noticing them & ignoring what they saw.Many times I thought I would die from the abuse.I use to pray at 8 yrs to die so it would be over.As I got older,I prayed to live so I could run away.I left home at 14 yrs.
@morgieandsadsrock I'm an adult now,raised my children on my own.Life goes I guess with it's ups & downs.I will never forget the abuse.I left home at 14-went to Vancouver where my career started.I worked as an outreach worker helping people,the homeless,addicted,sex trade workers & at Oakala Jail when it use to be open.I spent my life working as a counselor,trying to make a difference & hopefully being an example that we can move forward,using our abuse issues to help others.
@irishwing1 I have healed much,come a long way & been through a lot within my journey called Life.I was also molested,abused,had concussions,fractures, starved,confined,threatened with scissors & knives.I was cut,shook,yanked,had hair pulled out & burned with cigarettes.My mother also tried to drown me several times.Was anorexic/bulimic from 12 until in remission in my early 30's when I charged my brother with rape & molestation.I began to heal when I started facing my abuse issues.
@irishwing1My job as a counselor is my passion to hopefully give someone the support & skills to realize they are not their abuse,it's what was done to them.They deserve to give themselves the gift to live beyond what happened to them.My favorite saying is "In spite of...therefore go I." I'm in the process of writing a book about my life which I will publish when finished.I'm the female version of the book,"A Boy Called It." That's what I was called among other things-It,pig,ugly...
