On July 23, Home Army forces in Lwów (now Lviv) began an armed rising in cooperation with advancing Soviet forces. In four days the city was liberated. The Polish civil and military authorities were then summoned to "a meeting with Red Army commanders" and taken prisoner by the Soviet NKVD. Colonel Władysław Filipkowski's men were forcibly conscripted into the Red Army or sent to forced-labor camps, or went back underground. Soviets killed Poles like nazis from 1939.

Salvation of the POLISH nation in 1945? I would say in 1993 when the last Russian troops left Poland. Communism slavery instead of nazi slavery-well thank you! Pomerania and Silezia? Almost 390.000 km2 before II WW, and now 322000. Hmm, thanks! Growth of Polish population in soviet Poland? It's natural mechanism after war that nations are trying to survive. Just look the numbers.The population of Poland grew steadily from 1945 to 1989 and this can't be explained by so-called "after-war surviving mechanism" because the numbers grew during 50 years after the war had ended and they started to decline exactly after the communism fell.Western countries didn't enjoy the same fast growth rate.Those 390.000 km2 before WW2 were unfairly occupied by Poland in 1920.These were ethnic ukrainian lands where poles constituded just about 20 %.
