They are probably cursing because they wanted to make the characters look more tough guy like and more cool. Just keep in mind that all this violence, foul language, usage of guns and killing all around are all part of the reason why this game failed to be a successful production and got such low points and credits from all videogame critics besides the control of the character and uselessness of shooting, easy dying etc. Remember, this isn't a Sonic game, it's a game from war world.

@spencein8or maybe, but if Shadow sticked with Sonic and the gang and helped them, his memory would have slowly been coming back to him. And then he would have remembered his promise to Maria, to help the humans(including Sonic and the gang) and protect them(excluding Sonic and the gang since they can take care of themselves unless they needed help) from evil. that way sooner or later, they can have peace with evil gone and Eggman Locked up for good.

In my opinion the best story route for shadow the hedgehog is Dark, Dark, Hero, Normal, Dark, Dark, and The Last Story.

Thats taking into account shadows past relationships and wish to gain back his memory. He would probably help Black Doom for a while at the beginning then help Amy (just like he helped her in the last story of SA2) Help eggman (like in SA2) then help black doom again on the black comet and find out black dooms true intent in the last story and become the hero.
