The Bush Doctrine, first of all is not a "widely used" term as you put it. Also it is not like the Monroe Doctrine, that is one definitive statement. You look it up on the internet and there are several different definitions. I don't think Obama would know what it is either, not that I can prove it now since everybody is claiming it's common knowledge. But then again why am I comparing a Presidential candidate with a vice-presidential candidate?

I said it has been used in numerous news pieces and books on the war in iraq. Which it has, had she been reading books on iraq she would know what it is. But then again like Bush she probably doesnt believe in reading. But what this pick is really about, is the fact the John McCain's first cabinant pick was a staight from Neoconservative Bill Krystal and Karl Rove. So if you do vote for McCain dont at all be suprised if you see a lot of the same faces come january in the cabinent.

I expect that the captain will be at the helm, and that there will be a co-pilot. I do not expect that the co-pilot will be as experienced and knowledgable as the captain.
Palin is in the correct position. Obama should be Biden's VP. It's both laughable and insulting that he is at the top of the ticket.

Hey Palin. The Bush Doctrine is the reason that you just sent your son off to war 7 years to the day after the attacks of 911 which had absolutely nothing to do with Iraq. I believe the the Bush Doctrine should be redefined as a completely unjustified war really. But I also believe that any mom of a soldier, much less a state Governor(AK National Guard Commander)much less a potential Vp or President should know what it is. I'm carpenter in Rural maine and i knew. No thanks on George W. Palin

Palin's lack of experience showed plainly on the Doctirne question.
When she hears ANY question, and doesn't really quite know what's being asked, do you think she ought to simply give "something" as a response, or would it be better to ask for the question to be rephrased or more specific.
Well Palin tried that too, but wasn't able to get the focused question she needed to formulate a proper answer.

Dubya's doctrine is common knowledge, much like the "Clinton Doctrine" is common knowledge, to those who are iaware of world politics, like Palin claims to be.
If Charlie had asked McCain that question, we would have heard a clear understanding, for sure.

Charlie Gibson didn't ask Missourians over cornflakes, nor did he ask a pundit in the "middle of the night".
Gigson asked a reasonable question about the policy that Bush authored in order to JUSTIFIED THE GULF WAR of the woman who would occupy the Office of Vice President of the United States while OUR NATION IS STILL ENGAGED IN THAT WAR!
