  • I'd far rather someone misjudged it 10 times cautiously ... than once boldly. The skipper did just fine in what appears to be less than ideal circumstances.

  • i like the skipper at least he didnt fuck anything

  • le grande douchebag de cameraman petit anus bon voyage

  • Nice boat, and well done getting it safely docked. Maybe the cameraman could stick that camera up his arse if he wants to find some shit to film

  • @andyb1574 lolol that was actually pretty clever

  • There are those that try, and there are those who stand by with a video camera sniggering and trying to humiliate someone else, forgetting what it was like when they themselves were learning how to dock. They also forget the guy who ran over to help them and made their docking easier.

  • NO BOW THRUST-ER,SINGLE SCREW. IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORST.

  • ahhh if yo listen carefully u can hear the whistle of the .....Mikanos port Capt, its in all the books.... give him a go though really his bowthruster could of been broke it might not even be his boat.. it could be his first time ... give him ago!!

  • bow thrust!

  • Location: a marina somewhere in Greece. Wave: zero metres. Wind: zero knots. Boat: 2 engines plus bow thruster. Skipper: pathetic ... that's lot of info to not know anything...

  • @conflustered they must of had some brains to get the money :)

  • I agree with the other comments that say, "put the camera down and help". Why wasn't someone on the other boats swim platform helping?

  • regardless to the current, he has twin screws and a bow thruster. and its not like that boat has much of a keel too. port reverse and adjust with the bow thruster, no problem.

  • Skipper is not experienced enough but there is also a very strong under current.

but that still is no excuse when you know its there and also you are a skipper.

    so...he fails.

  • Put the camera down and help.

  • the guy in the back isnt helping with that hook he keeps pulling the stern towards the other boat..when i dock my boat i tell everyone on board keep ur hands in ur pocket and dont help me bc they only make it worse.

  • @JoeConEd Do you seriously think that it could actually get worse than this ????

  • whats going on. Why cant he back in, is there a current?

  • Holly Speedo alert..... Dont mind us, just a couple of cool dudes coming in from a day of boating in our Speedo's

  • I'm sorry for this dude. Happened to me thosands of times before I got it right... At least he didn't cause any damages... Keep trying buddy!

  • he such big time and sees someone out there filming !!

  • Gay guys cant run a boat for shit. He was distracted looking at his boyfriends ass.

  • strong current, looks harder than it is. he got in with out hiting other boats well done i say.

  • Some peopel isnt Good at parking with boat even they have a License

  • they make it look harder than it actually is lmfaoo

  • Its all about getting the feel for your boat, and working out what youre going to do before you get there, i try to size up the hole im gonna squeeze into way before im there, judge the wind and tide (most important) and correct the boat by going ahead, then coming astern, small bursts of power, correcting with helm in puts, it buys thinking time, and the situation stays in control, power on all the time isnt the answer in situations like this.

  • Pathetic guy tries to bench press 700 pounds. Dumbass can't dock his 3 million dollar yacht. Moron bought the wrong windows for his million dollar home. Embecile painted his Jaguar and ugly shade of green. Screw up got drunk and ran his 3 million dollar yacht up in the marsh. There's nothing worse you got poor people standing around filming something and all they can afford is the camera they got and they get in their 80 Ford truck and drive home and they had some fun in their pathetic lives,

  • Actually its the first mate that keeps screwing him up. Way to go Gilligan.

  • Yes, he had some issues, but he didn't do anything stupid or dangerous. Sometimes it just doesn't work out for you.

  • nice boating. only problem is that there are no women on board.

  • oh. and boats don't just drive straight back. for me i like to come bow first and do a 180 and slide back in. in my opinion the bigger the boat the easier to dock. just sayin

  • if you have a boat learn how to drive it first. i work at a marina(for 5 years) and see this all day everyday. it's not hard to dock, from a 16ft to a 33footer. it's just about taking your time.

  • And you stood and took video rather than helping another sailor by catching his ropes to pull him in.

    You're a dirty sea harlot !

  • who needs a bow thruster when you've got a boat hook?

  • What a Wanker!!!

  • Ποσο ασχετος μπορει να εισαι,εχειςκαι προπελακι και δεν μπορεις να παρκαρεις,αστο και παρε πατινι,αν κι αυτο δυσκολο θα σου ειναι!!

  • for all you "just add water experts" with the smart comments... i would like to see you try this

  • Looks like pretty strong current there, from the bow - starboard side...

  • this the type of boaters that leave nasty scratches and dents on ur boats..!!

  • I'd rather have people who are cautious and considerate try and dock a boat than some prick who steams in at 100 miles per hour and hits me.

  • There are those who try and try again. Then there are those who never try, and condem the tryers for trying.

  • I love how the poster makes it look like there are perfect conditions. The skipper obviously had a pretty strong current pushing him to port.

  • @lionel21000 it must be awesome to own a boat!

  • @crankatorium Owning a boat is the best thing ever in the world! But you've got to give people a chance to learn, unlike the "critic" who filmed this.

  • @lionel21000 everyone gets so elitist. even scuba divers get snobby at new divers.

  • @crankatorium it is...

  • Ok, what's wrong with this again? ...it does look like he struggles with the current and wind, but not by Much. I'd use the word "Negotiates" instead... "dock the boat" seems pretty accurate... but "Pathetic" where does that fit in?

OHH, I get it now...Pathetic is for the Uploader, and all of the asses trying to say he's anything other then a responsible and competent boater.

Hmm, ok so the title translations from Moronese to common sense is "Skipper Docks Boat, Idiots try to find fault"

  • I feel for the guy. It was a small space and it isn't like the boat has brakes.

  • fools take videos instead of lending a hand. An option is put bow in and back out. This guy had his hands full with wind and current and did all right. Once he lost first shot, he was smart enough to go back out and try again instead of making things worse.

  • Its easy to go blasting around fast. It's the slow speed maneuvering that can be trickiest. And how long has the boat owner been practicing manouvering? Looks to me like he's being relatively courteous about it. I never did like the boat hook landing though, generally they aren't the best for fending off. And generally people get caught up using them rather than having the appropriate line in hand and getting ashore, or in this case, onto the neighboring vessel. Anyway, no injuries, no damage.

  • Anticipate where the wind and current is coming from, the correct, and back in. Twin engines, so use asymmetrical steering, no need for a bow-thruster in that size boat...

  • Lubbers. No injuries, no damage, no problem.

  • @haakondahl Ha ha! All these lubbers criticizing as if backing a boat up is like backing a car up!

  • too much relying on the bow thruster and a guy with a boat hook pushing the boat around, I would of just thrown the guy on the next boat a line, he might look like he's watching for entertainment, but I think he would prefer to help than fear his boat getting hit.

Its not easy. no boat likes going backwards.

  • If you listened you could hear the bow running al the time- only bad drivers(?) use the bow as only steering.

And it might have been hard, but I saw several bulletproof moments to succeed, but he didn't.

  • That is no easy task... There was wind you can hear it whistling the mic on the camera. There is also currents pushing the boat from below.... This is not easy.

  • Practice makes dents.

  • This is why it sucks to go on many bodies of water, loads of buffoons with the cash to buy a boat who never bother or have the skill to learn how to actually operate the thing. And agree with the other poster too, get some real swimtrunks, no one wants to see a lard arse in a speedo, lol

  • I'll talk trash. Turn the stupid thing around, drive it in, and buy a fucking swimsuit made after 1984 that will cover your freakin nuts! Who agrees?

  • @ImaLanger thats right

  • lol what a dickbutt

  • no- this guy is handling the boat like a blind Granny ! And if anyone cant see that- he also should not try to be a skipper !

  • either way this guy owns a boat and hey its not that easy anyone can talk shit from the passenger seat it all changes when their in command

  • yeah. my dad had a 56ft houseboat .no fun to back in

  • Like everything,it gets better with time and practice. I remember the first time I had a paralell park at the bait dock. It can be nerve racking.. But after a year it was so easy. All you have to do is think ahead of your controll inputs and reaction is slower in water.

  • Its not that hard to put a boat in that space, easy in back gear, and steer whith bow thruster.

But at least hes no braicking enything,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Ive seen worse, room fore practice. Often people dont train docking, they just buy a boat and go.

    Daniel - Boating instructor (Proff)

  • the tide must have got him

  • boats are designed to go forward so backing one in is way more challanging also there must be a current pushing him into the other boat and tiny slip he got it in there look like he did good to me

  • first, that's a tight slip. second, he may be new to boating or the boat. everyone takes practice. grow up.

  • Comment removed

  • It would have been better for him to dock forward and reverse out

  • I'd rather have him come alongside my boat, than some of you fools. Slowly does it. Unfortunately the guy need the courage of his convictions and be a bit more aggressvie, possibly would not have had some much problem. If it was in the med I'd be surprised, as there is very little tide in the med (tidal height of around 1 foot around most of greece), and something was making him go beam on, unless he had a bow thruster permanently running :)

  • I CAN DOCK THIS!

  • Well at least he's aware of the fact that he doesn't know what he's doing...look at all of those bumpers on the side...LOL. Seriously though, I have a hard time with my 19 foot runabout and a slip...I can only imagine how much tougher mooring that boat is.

  • Always fun backing up my single screw Chris Craft. And with current and wind!!

  • He has a powerboat, try docking a big ass sailboat

  • Here's a little boating tip: He should've come in closer to the boat on his port side, because the current is bringing him to starboard. Pathetic? No, that would be a common error. Even experienced boaters sometimes underestimate the wind or the current, not to mention the stress of having other boats in extreme close proximity.

  • @guitboxchicken Experienced boater??? You got port and starboard backwards. Port is left. the current was taking him to his left side... and id feel safer docking next to him then some wise guy thats a good boater who tries to back in in 5 seconds

  • @louisvilleguitarguy Sorry about that. You are correct. I was half asleep when I commented. Thank you for the correction!

  • youtube has too many know everything captains in my opinion

  • Bow thruster or not.....Hes got twins! Should be a very simple job. BUT, I most certainly give him props, he took his time and re-tried when he knew he couldn't do it. Just inexperience is all that we see here....and theres only one way to get experience.....by doing what you see here. I think he did fine, took his time, and didn't wreck anything. Good job on his part, even if it was a touch shakey.

  • Wow... He suck at that!

  • Dude.. That should be SO EASY with that bov-thruster he's got on the fine ship!!

No respekt from this thruster-less captain.. ;o)

  • idiots

  • That's not pathetic. Try it yourself and you will see just how hard it is.

  • Looks like a nice guy to me. Inexperienced but at least he's taking it safe

  • Manouvering skils is something that you got it or not. Most of this kind "sunday captains" do it this way......pathetic

  • looks like a nice boater to me.

  • just in case you didn't know, 99% of youtubers are professionals when it comes to docking a boat. They can dock a titanic in that space....... (of cause on youtube only)

  • @ExtraTerrestrials How often do you dock a boat ? Just to know...

I dock boat very often, on a boat without a bow thruster. So I could affirm that this skipper had zero knowledge on docking boat: Just a short use of the bow thruster to keep the boat straight and the boat had to be docked properly.

  • Top skipper I wouldn't be worried if my boat was berthed beside his , at least you know it wouldn't be smashed when you got to it. Top man

  • @ArmchairSkipper But with twin engines don't the props usually spin in opposite directions? (I know my outboards do) I think he just wasn't comfortable or familiar enough with his bow thruster. But then I've been wrong before. ;-)

  • currents, as the boat was just slipping sideways all the time, its not a bad skipper

  • Why didn't he nose her in?!??

    Like reversing w a trailer

    opposite always dummy !!!

  • @cetieel It's easier to get on & off a "Med Moored" boat from the stern than it is from the bow.Plus it's easier to drive out & have the harbor visible from the wheelhouse as you pull forward.

  • IDIOTSSSSSSS

  • looks like a tight spot to me! hard to do

  • Looks like a smart and courteous boater to me. The smart ass comments are from jealous unknowing landlocked trolls.

  • @rickbcri INDEED. THAT COMMENT WAS SIMPLY PRICELESS!!!

  • @rickbcri Two engines AND a bowthruster sais enough I think.

The only ting that he does right is staying calm and not using to much throttle.

  • nice speedo

  • @GrizzlyMint669 and i thought i was the only one that noticed

  • too much bow thruster

  • his problem was steering the boat instead of leaving the engines straight and just using the two engines he has to pivot the boat. luckily there wasn't any strong wind looked like a small current but the other douches that were just watching could've helped.. props for sticking to it an finally gettin it in

  • Watch closely, the helper is the reason he gets sideways on the approach the first two times.

  • Wtf man those guys in the other boat could`ve helped him out... Stupid bastards....

  • what a wanker , glad my boat was not next to this !

  • bahah at first i thought it was a tight squeeze but really he has like 2 plus feet on either side

  • Pathetic docking? Well, I guess if his boat was the 1,000$ hunk of shit most you trolls have he would of docked it quicker, he was probably a begginer but did a great job.

  • I'm 10 and i dock better!!

  • co za asy...

  • xaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxxxa

  • ma k testa di cazzo

  • "Skipper" is sea talk for "Noob"?

  • @panterask8r14 Slang for the person in charge of a vessel

  • What a fucken numbnuts! Pathetic is right and add loser to the list!

  • got all the gear no idea

  • got all the gear no idea

  • I have a 35 sportfisher and I have docked it tons of times. I can say that space he is trying to dock it in so friggin tight, and its tough to counter a current on your beam with no bow thrusters. He not pathetic he is just being careful not to smash the other boats. He did what I always do, if the current is pushing you too close, go forward and try again.

  • If they'd past a rope to the guy on the other boat all would have been easy.

  • why ot just go in forwards?

  • To the moron that posts this video and all other moronic comments:

You have no clue about the difference between a boat and a bicycle. Go back to your bikes morons!

  • Judge ye knot... scurvy heathens....

  • but I betchya hes got his boaters certificate

  • Put some hair on the dock, then he'll be able to get it in the hole.

  • If you can't back it in, with bow thruster no less, you're queer.

  • This is not unusual sadly. If I had a pound for every incompetent stink boat owner I had seen, I'd have about 3 grand by now! That was spectacularly bad though.

  • Type PRIZE before youtube and hit enter

  • I guess money can't fix stupid.

  • If you can't navigate a boat, why own one ? my 85 year old mother with cancer can do a better job than he did . . . . .

  • I thought his bow propellor was not working... But at the end you can see it is.. So than it is a bad driver afterall..

  • I'm 16.... And I Can even Dock My Dads Boat.... which is bigger than that.... thats patheticly bad.

  • I think he needs to stop working the wheel and focus on the sticks and the thruster

  • @TowBoat911 Che gran coglione!!!!!!!!!

  • Glad it was him and not me. Reckon I would of rolled in foward.

  • Why didnt he just buy a fucking steady?

  • why the fuck is he backing inn

  • wtf

  • imagine this guy without a bowthruster...

  • Anyone that insults this guy has either never docked a boat and knows nothing of how currents, wind and prop wash can affect a boat, or they are just insensitive trolls.

This is NOT a pathetic docking. This is probably a beginner being too careful because he is a considerate person.

  • @tomperanteau is absolutely correct. not to bad of a job and he was being considerate.

  • @tomperanteau I presume he has only one engine with no thrusters? Boats of this type are not designed to be steered astern! Don't know what more he could have done except go in bow first?

  • @tomperanteau I presume he has only one engine with no thrusters? Boats of this type are not designed to be steered astern! Don't know what more he could have done except go in bow first or throw one of the many bystanders a line to guide him in?

  • @tomperanteau Did you look at the current and wind i think they were a little absent. And why would you operate a boad this size without experience. Docking between these two very pricey boats as a beginner is not too smart>

  • @tomperanteau

But you have to look at the other side too, he had twin motors that weren't being used independently and a bow thruster...he couldve slipped that thing in there with room to spare.

  • @tomperanteau he just hasn't docked a boat with a bowthruster often yo need to practice with those things

  • @tomperanteau I agree.Just because I can dock a grocery boat in an 8mph running current w/ wheelwash from a towboat & 30 barges PLUS a wind coming off the dock doesn't mean that others can do the same.Everyone starts off not knowing what to do,even if they've been to U.S.Power Squadron training or an equivilent course. Docking & undocking a boat takes practice, literally from the School of Hard Knocks.

  • @doughesson Not literally the school of hard knocks, hopefully ;)

  • @bradders3535 That's how you make it to the wheelhouse on the river.Very few pilots who have been to the maritime academy stay on the river. It's too foreign a concept to them that a deckhand can go from greenhorn to pilot in 4 yeasr if he applies him/herself.When starting out,you will bump a few times no matter how many times you've studied the mechanics of propellors & watched other pilots landing a boat at the dock or on a barge. It only looks easy due to prolonged practice.

  • @tomperanteau clearly the driver of the boat doesn't understand propwash either. Backing up a boat IS very hard though.

  • @tomperanteau i do know how wind and currents can affect docking but there is no wind, this WAS a pathetic docking. if he was a beginner why didnt he go in stern first?! YOU clearly have never docked a boat.

  • @Corlett96Andrew YOU weren't there and YOU have no idea what was best or what he was trying to accomplish. Monday morning quarterbacks are a dime a dozen, and YOU fit that.

I have many hours sailing, including docking here and at the island. If you're going to make up stories to insult me you are barking up the wrong tree. Especially when you insult someone in a video and you have no idea what was really going on.

You're a 21 year old child. Go get some experience and come back in a few years.

  • @Corlett96Andrew He is going in stern first...

  • @tomperanteau No, he's an idiot. Has twin drive and a bow thruster and can't begin to get straight on a calm day. This is beyond pathetic.

  • @Miata822 The only idiots here, are the Monday morning quarterbacks that were not there, don't own a boat, and think they are (little "g") gods of opinion.

  • @tomperanteau I am a sailor and a Coast Guard Auxiliarist... You're right this skipper is taking some extra effort to dock so that he wouldn't bump somebody else's boat. Like you said, the person who uploaded this may not have been familiar with the currents around the marina..

  • @tomperanteau I could not have said it any better. He's actually a very responsible and respectful captain for being careful of other peoples vessels.

  • why the hell is this guy having problems docking when it's calm, no wind and has bow thrusters. damn he sucks. come to Belize to learn with our tricky wether.

  • Might not have been the tidiest bit of mooring ever but he did it without damaging any other boats nor his own and he didnt panic when it all went wrong a few times.

It was a tight spot, but a bit of practise with his mooring wouldnt go amiss,

  • Just throw the dumb fuck a line.

  • It isnt as easy as it looks try it with a large whaler on a windy day those things are like sail boats

  • Funny how all of a sudden, everyones an expert eh??

  • @bigkiwial true

  • haha its like a woman in a car
