So now it's working. You are the one with the public platform to say whatever you want. I'm a private citizen writing something only a handful of people will read, other than you. I care about the theater, went to meetings and listened. You, on the other hand, are a blogger, pretending to be a reporter, who doesn't ask questions. That is cowardice or laziness. I would hope you'd take some responsibility for presenting the whole story. That's your job, not mine.
And as long as you're asking them about the lawsuit, ask them why they trashed the Cerrito and didn't pay rent for 18 months. The Cerrito was nice when it opened and smelled like the Parkway when it closed.
And did you ask them if they read anything, like eviction notices, or anything they sign, like leases? (An attorney? really?)
The Fischers stole money from El Cerrito. All you have to do is read the City's website instead of eating omelettes with these clowns.
The Fischers took construction funds from the City and then never paid the contractor. (That's called fraud.) The contractor sued. The only way they could get the money to pay the contractor and settle the lawsuit was to sell their equipment to the City. So no, they don't own anything in the theater.

I've been trying to respond to your question for several days and youtube doesn't seem to accept them anymore.

Lying liars and the lies they tell.

We should all thank the Fischers: they had vision and courage, and the cities of Oakland and El Cerrito are better off today because of it.
