whenever I listen to this song I think of a platoon of canadian soldiers circa wwI lined up in a trench ready to go over the top, and when they do,when they enter "no man's land" the whole world becomes a distant memory, a reward for surviving, it comes after, at the end of the madness: like a gift shop at the end of the museum.
Love Love this song, this song played in the pits right before we went out and ran a 5.87 at 244 mph last weekend at the track.....it's now being played every weekend :P
im so sick of pieces of shit knoicking the u.s., no one is saying a damn thing about canada.. so get a fucking life. At least americans know how to fucking drive lol
We like to think we are better than americans and I am sure they think they are better than us as well but at the end of the day we are all the same. The only major difference is that we know way more about there culture and country than they do about ours. Thanks america, for the youtube, the computer I'm using, for the Internet etc. What country would make a better neighbor than the US? You'd have to pick one big enough to front on Canada...
I don't know where I have been, I've never heard this song before, they play it all the time at the movie theatre and I love it, it's amazing! but of course it's The Tragically Hip, always have great songs:)
ummm i bought trouble at the hen house the day it was released here in the states. it may or may not have been released earlier in Canada, but it would have been only a day or two
Their music is hard to describe. I've never been high in my entire life but I believe that when I listen to their music, I experience something very similar to being high. It's just so intense and incredible. Every song they've made is a favorite of mine.
@longprocess Yeah if you're implying smoking herb gives you brain damage you're sadly mistaken my friend. Sure it kills brain cells but so does your computer, its moniter, your TV, microwave and the damn food you eat so suck it up and quit complaining.
@exponentialreduction I wasn't complaining. I'm just tired of people trying to justify pot. How about get a damn life instead of trolling around on Youtube? Go smoke a joint or something, brain-dead lowlife.
Awesome. This is a great song and a great CD. I heard 'Trouble at the hen house' wasn't even released in the US. Too bad for them since it went 5x platinum in Canada XD
An absolutely fantastic band! I live in NY near Niagara Falls - awesome footage of the waters and it fits so well with the beginning of this song! I have been fortunate to have seen the Hip several times - and all I can say is thanks to my Canadian neighbors for sharing!
I got the chance to see Gord and the boys a few years back at the Orpheum. The crowd was really dead, didn't do them much justice. Keep up the good work lads, I look forward to your next album!
I was born and raised in the U.K. where some of the best music ever created came from but now I live in Canada and I think the Hip are so incredibly underrated! I think they've produced the best rock music in the past 20 years.
i saw them in vermont when i was like 15, guster opened up for them as well. what an awesome show. i only wish that i was a little older so i could have appreciated more
Classic. Remember the days of being a 18 year old Canadian, going to a bush party (do kids even do that today?), drinking a crate of Moosehead, watch 2 guys fight over some bird, listening to the Hip (on some battery powered tape box), then it gets busted by the cops.
@B66R90 Canadian rock icons and you call them underrated? And 48 people agree? WTF is going on? Are the Americans finally clueing into the hips AWESOMENESS?
@sweetmonkeylove1 I think they meant underrated in the sense that, for acts coming from Canada, you always hear about the likes of Bieber and such, even though The Hip define what Canada truly is.
Blazing from sask, ppl keep them lit turn it up!

At least the falls provide us with power, I guess.
