The fan controller connects on both the cooler and the motherboard, it draws power from the motherboard and any power source will do just fine. I had a no-name 500watt PSU powering my pc and 8 fans plus 4 cathodes and it did it's job quite good. Hope this helps.
at that time i had no cash for a proper computer case (and no time for wire management). Now i've got a Antec 1200 and it's a lot different on the inside :D
well that video is old, too... that was my other case, an antec 900.
In all honesty cable management is needed only if you have a case with a transparent side panel OR to improve cooling on high power components... other than that... not much use for it...
how did you hook up the fan controller, and do you need a lot of power {PSU}
for this fan ?
