The group of guys on the video were all '06 high school grads. There were 5 seniors and one junior in the mix of 6 guys who jumped over 17 feet in high school that year. Very unusual, mostly only 1 or 2 guys a year achieve this. all of the guys are now in college and jumping at the ncaa titles pretty much two times a year- one indoor and one outdoor season each year. My son is one of the guys on the video. It is great knowing all of these fine young men! Great athletes!
you know what the greatest thing is?? it's when they announce that a new national record was set in some other event and there's a little bit of applause. then a morrison makes 17' and the whole building goes nuts hahaha
they didnt give scott another 3 tries, the standards were off because of the officials error, so they allowed another jump, in which he cleared the winning height to win it all. 1 extra jump, not 3
and they're probably all coached by the same guy... that's what happening in the south east of england, i think that apart from me and the two other guys im training with, EVERYONE is trained by allan williams. Serisouly, he has about 40 'disciples'.
And this is pole vault we're talking about, not football or anything.
he did?? i clear 12'6" and i'm a freshman... i have my schools freshman reccord... probably my states but they dont reccord freshman reccords... there is hope for me to do that!
I used to compete in the same region as Jordan Scott. He was actually the winner at this meet, but because of an error the officials made, they gave Scott Roth from CA another 3 tries and won. :(
yeah mike morrison is awesome. i jumped against him a lot in high school. 17'6" is something most people don't do in college and he did it in high school
Ha! When I saw the people on my team pole vaulting, I thought it was amazing and joined, but never knew that they go at THOSE hights during the big leagues xD
Great quality all the other pole vault vids are poor quality. Yeah... that's pretty amazing he cleared 12'6 as a freshmen but I know someone who made 11'6 as a senior, and made 16' as a freshmen in college so there's still hope!
