Growing up in LA in the 80's we had West Coast Funk- now it's called Old School Funk, G-Funk, West Side Funk, etc. Not sure if anyone outside SoCal ever got this style of funk because it wasn't radio music, but now its on youtube! a distinctive sound, often slow beats with bass-in-your-face (often synth bass or bass guitar with effects) this sound pretty much sums up the feeling of southern california... for a bassist there are some gems in there!

if i were rich id buy you a sterling bass.you know the song..but the timming isnt right..this isnt being disrespectful because your hitting the notes just fine..i know on here its very hard to play and get tings to sound like you want via YT vids.. this song is to be played brashy and balls out..kinda like comming to a party and kicing the door open and saying watch out im here now...when your doing the build up at 3:40 thats to be precise and snappy..you have what it takes to do it its obvious.
