Most scripted comedys in England have been on the slide for a few years now, this is best you can hope for, the rest are either based around chaves saying stereotypical lines and being prats or grown men and women acting like children, the days of Monty Python, Blackadder, the Young Ones, Fawlty Towers, Allo Allo and all the other greats from the 70s and 80s are long gone. The only ones since 2000 that have been good have been My Family and Black Books.
