When I was 19 I was granted an audience with Professor John Weinzweig. I showed him some of my scores, and he proclaimed with a sneer, "I see no evidence of any talent here."
So I quit music, learned a trade, and did not write another note until 2000.
At first I wasn't sure about this composition. But, as I listened to it I liked it more and more.
