Stumbled upon this album whilst on iTunes. Checked the previews of some of the tracks on the album and was sold. Hope they release more albums in the future.

SOUTHERN METAL is where its at these days, its a shame nobody realizes that. everyone claims rock n roll is a charade or dead, but if you take a second to check out a "new" band, you may just have your mind blown. I really like this...but it looks like they are wearing southern stoner rock costumes from the wardrobe department. The drummer looks like an SNL character....but the song rules!

1. Years before Dust to Dust, members of BWR were playing hard rock/metal in other bands.
1A. Therefore my argument isn't just an argument. Its a fact.
2. This song (and most of the CD) was written at least 5 years ago. There was no "southern sludge bandwagon" back then. How do I know this? I was in the recording studio with them.
3. Clean the shit out our ears, there's nothing southern about their sound.
1. So what you're saying is that they were playing hard rock before, then jumped on the nu metal bandwagon, and then jumped back to the hard rock bandwagon. 2. Corrosion Of Conformity(from the south) has been writing and performing this style of music for over 20 years....If you were you in the studio with them, congratulations. The production is pretty good. I've been doing studio work(producing, performing)since 1987. 3. This song rules, but the rest of the album is garbage.
2. The fact that COC is from the south or that they have been around for over 2 decades does not infer that there is a collective "southern sludge" sound. By contrast, the "Seattle" or "Austin" sound is made up of dozens of bands concentrated in the same enclave having a similar sonic flavor. Though their listeners may overlap in my opinion BWR and COC are worlds apart. Thank you, I agree production is very good. 3. To each his own.

@kingfullmetal no no i do mean the whole classic rebirth thing. i just mean taking the hard musical aspects of the death metal, slowing the melody down just a bit and keeping the power, and adding great singing and songwriting from the classic era. its awesome.

And I love this song and vid, I mean, it's hard and heavy and not screamo. I'm not so big on these alterna/emo/scene/indie bands that have decent riffs, but always sing softly then go straight into screamo.
yea, i mean, screamo would be nice, if you could understand what they were singing. i mean, i listen to it occassionally, but i hate that really really heavy stuff with screams so low pitched that you can't tell if they're singing or dying... lol
I know, it puts me off and gives modern rock/metal a bad name, especially for people who know jack shit about it. I don't mind Slipknot, but anything else is just pushing it. I only listen to the screamo bands for the heavy riffs and killer drum beats.

@kingfullmetal no no i do mean the whole classic rebirth thing. i just mean taking the hard musical aspects of the death metal, slowing the melody down just a bit and keeping the power, and adding great singing and songwriting from the classic era. its awesome.

And I love this song and vid, I mean, it's hard and heavy and not screamo. I'm not so big on these alterna/emo/scene/indie bands that have decent riffs, but always sing softly then go straight into screamo.

yea, i mean, screamo would be nice, if you could understand what they were singing. i mean, i listen to it occassionally, but i hate that really really heavy stuff with screams so low pitched that you can't tell if they're singing or dying... lol

I know, it puts me off and gives modern rock/metal a bad name, especially for people who know jack shit about it. I don't mind Slipknot, but anything else is just pushing it. I only listen to the screamo bands for the heavy riffs and killer drum beats.
