Jeff Pollard Band was one of the best bar bands on the Gulf Coast Circuit..KingFish in Baton Rouge, up my way in NELA...Leon, Rod Roddy, Holland, Campo And Jeff who left premature just when the band was making the promotions...Saw the band as LeRoux open for Journey is Jackson Ms...Rod Roddy got my back stage pass and I met Journey...Great night and the band could have gone far...Thanks Leon for keeping the band on the festival circuit...
Not the same without Jeff Pollard, whom I have admired for 40 years. He is a genuinely nice guy and a person has to follow where they are led. He gave up the "rock and roll" lifestyle to share his faith, and no one should fault him for that. i met the band without him in natchitoches a few years ago at the lights festival and they don't hold a grudge, nor should anyone else. i wrote to him a few years ago and he was kind enough to answer my letter and offer some help for someone close to me.
@ABQ07 Pollard became some kind of freak when he found Jesus.
While he lived in BR he became a Chimes Street preacher and harrassed the kids down there horribly. Not to mention how he totally screwed the other members of the band after signing contracts. Leaving left the rest of the guys on the hook for the advances and all.
I saw LeRoux live at the Kingfish nightclub, Baton Rouge, in January 1978. Great band. Lead singer/guitarist Jeff Pollard is now a pastor serving the Lord at a church in Florida.

@ABQ07 I saw them quite a bit at the KINGFISH in BR as the Jeff Pollard Band...They played in Ouachita Parish at the Ouachita River Company...Some of the guys sans Jeff Pollard and Leon use to come over to my place to party after shows...Bobby Campo would bring his bongos and the acoustics came out and we jammed to Jackson Brownes' tunes...
good to hear some memories

I love Dave & Sugar's version of this song, but this version is pretty good also. I found this one when searching for lyrics to the song.
