One of my absolute favourite Beatles songs... and yeah, John's vocal - I can't count the number of times I've listened to this one over the years - just rips your heart out every time. There never has been, and I suspect never will be, a musical group that will even come close to them!

Even in this song, the Beatles seem to have a tinge of country or blue grass.

But around 1:00 John sings a solo that still rises the hackles on my neck with the sheer emotionality of it, but without the shrieking and histrionics we've come to expect from people who come from the Simon Cowell school of crap.

@ysbaddaden2003 Actually there is Bluegrass music available. Bluegrass and Beatles go so wonderful together if you ask me. I always thought that " I'll cry instead" is almost a bluegrass song.
