Well, not directly. But, if a YouTube user has many people subscribing to them, that's an indication that many people watch there videos, so Pepsi or whoever the hell will offer money to that user if they allow Pepsi to run ads next to the video or wherever.
Of course, the system isn't always that simple, and there's no gaurentees about it, but some people, like that 'What the Buck' guy are making $20,000 per month this way.

Well yes, but that's only when they agree to the partnership, right? And usually YTPs, which contain copyrighted material, violate the partnership rules?
