There used to be a promotional film (a sort of proto-video) that went with this song in Europe because DS (understandably) couldn't be around for all the performances. I've never seen it since - its not even ever been up here on YouTube - although everyone in Europe who knows this song will surely recall at least some of the memorable film that went with it. There was an especially cool moment when DS was filmed walking down a rough "Indiana" street & a black dude recognised him & shook hands.
I have loved David Soul for years and had all of his albums..But I will have to say, that this is most certainly amazing artwork. I used to just think I could draw pictures of these two...not anymore. This is so cool. Thank you.
His voice was okay, considering he was more known for acting than singing. You can tell though that they had plenty of strong background singers and production tricks going on to make the record more musically palatable - and marketable. I'm not knocking him,
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
This Got Me Singing Here I am a million miles from home The Indiana wind and rain cut through me I’m lost and alone, chilled to the bone Silver Lady du wah du .
Made No 1 in uk in October 77, and was fourth best seller of the year. Does anyone have the actual video that wa shown on Top of the Pops each week...
Great job. Great artwork. Is that one of DS's wives at :57? This inspired me to buy "The Very Best of David Soul Digitally Remastered". Even though I'm a Starskygal, that's a terrific pic of DS at 2:06. Thanks.

Facebook can't be that bad if its teaching younguns how us old ones used to live! Though I do realise how old this is as I think the single cost me a weeks pocket money - 30p!!! Happy listening x
@tompo010101 Thank you, It is so nice to know that I am not alone here! They were such good times and what can you buy for 30p these days - not even a packet of sweets for my 4 year old - she costs me about 3 weeks pocket money every day! I now sound like my mother - god help me!
@michelescoones Singles cost considerably more than 30 pence, Michelle - even in those long-lost, halcyon days of 1977 (unless my ageing memory is a lot more unreliable than I had thought)!
I can remember buying a copy of "Mull Of Kintyre" [by Paul McCartney & Wings] in December '77, at a branch of WH Smith in Norwich. I was 12 years of age at the time. I cannot recall exactly how much I had to pay for the single, but I think it was something in the region of 70 pence.
