  • this is fockun great.

  • David Soul only sang two songs that I know of and both are classics now. What a shame he didn't go on with his recording career.

  • Hit #1 on the UK pop singles chart for 3 weeks in Oct 1977

  • Miss the old days...seems such along time ago.... :-(

  • He was from Starsky and Hutch! Didn't know he sang! :)

  • i love wwe 12

  • ben mears can sing.

  • doss tune

  • There used to be a promotional film (a sort of proto-video) that went with this song in Europe because DS (understandably) couldn't be around for all the performances. I've never seen it since - its not even ever been up here on YouTube - although everyone in Europe who knows this song will surely recall at least some of the memorable film that went with it. There was an especially cool moment when DS was filmed walking down a rough "Indiana" street & a black dude recognised him & shook hands.

  • @krakenwave I remember that film too!

  • Mi chica de plata

  • Glenn Campbell should have done this song

  • Starsky at Time 1:36 looks a little bit like Michael Knight in the TV-Series "Knight Rider" :-)

Maybe David Soul make a Performance together with Paul Michael Glaser and their "Starsky + Hutch"-Car one Day on a Stage with this Song ?

  • PARA LOS QUE EN ESE TIEMPO TENIAMOS 10 AÑOS

  • Siiiii,, muchos recuerdos para mi también!!!!...otra época

  • good song and vid, little bit of jump and miss on CD

  • WAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MARAVILLOSA CANCION

  • He was very kind to me in New Zealand 1994 and i love this song!!,(Good luck to you David and thanks...;-)

  • I have loved David Soul for years and had all of his albums..But I will have to say, that this is most certainly amazing artwork. I used to just think I could draw pictures of these two...not anymore. This is so cool. Thank you.

  • His voice was okay, considering he was more known for acting than singing. You can tell though that they had plenty of strong background singers and production tricks going on to make the record more musically palatable - and marketable. I'm not knocking him,

    just stating a fact.

  • Brilliant, wish I could go back to these times. What a great melody.

  • gr8 song love it my dads song 2

  • love this song, and also Starsky & Hutch! Grew up on them! Like food for me!!

  • Go Hutch Go great song

  • i want this played at my funeral (:

  • i love this song. i always have. still have the 45 even though i don't have a record player

  • Great job. Great artwork. Is that one of DS's wives at :57? This inspired me to buy "The Very Best of David Soul Digitally Remastered". Even though I'm a Starskygal, that's a terrific pic of DS at 2:06. Thanks.

  • this song really brings back the memories of those good old days... thanks David... you're the best... may the best be with you then, now and forever....

  • It's good to know that facebook is good for more than the trashy gossip etc that I have seen. This is a classic and and one of the first singles i ever bought with my pocket money! Facebook can't be that bad if its teaching younguns how us old ones used to live! Though I do realise how old this is as I think the single cost me a weeks pocket money - 30p!!! Happy listening x

  • @michelescoones the best comment on this board ...i Thank you

  • @tompo010101 Thank you, It is so nice to know that I am not alone here! They were such good times and what can you buy for 30p these days - not even a packet of sweets for my 4 year old - she costs me about 3 weeks pocket money every day! I now sound like my mother - god help me!

  • @michelescoones Singles cost considerably more than 30 pence, Michelle - even in those long-lost, halcyon days of 1977 (unless my ageing memory is a lot more unreliable than I had thought)!

I can remember buying a copy of "Mull Of Kintyre" [by Paul McCartney & Wings] in December '77, at a branch of WH Smith in Norwich. I was 12 years of age at the time. I cannot recall exactly how much I had to pay for the single, but I think it was something in the region of 70 pence.

  • It was number 1 the day I was born as well ... I checked on wikipedia and it is correct, I've never actually heard it before but I do like silver ! :-)

  • Me too, another Facebook birthday app person! Never heard it before today, but might have to go do it at karaoke ...

  • Man this was a good video. Who was the woman towards the first of the video anybody know? The alcohol did a number on him but he is still alive and kicking and looks better than ever in my opinion only.

  • Great tribute montage.

  • Some great artwork ! I remember pan's people dancing to this on TOTP's, it has that real 70's feel to it, damn, and David Soul was so handsome, its a pity the alcohol destroyed him.

  • Thank you for taking the high road and crediting the artist. You did good!

  • i was lucky enough to see David Soul in concert in Northern Ireland when i was around 10/11yrs old, my grandmother was one of the organizers and i got to meet him. he asked me "do you watch Starsky and Hutch"? i said "of course i do and its on tomorrow night" he laughed gave me a hug and gave me an autograph....priceless, i will never forget that

  • Aww... what a sweet story! Thanks for sharing that! I got the chance to meet Paul in Bromley when he did the panto. He was very sweet, too.

  • did you get my PM

  • gosh i got real beat up on this one! im bruised.lol

  • Absolutely correct everybody i'm sorry for the way that i've infringed on enednoviel's artwork she has emailed me about this, i hope she can accept my apology and see that i've made a few amendments, she is obviously a great artist and deserves all the credit.

in the meantime i hope you love this song as much as me.

    Peace.x

  • Thanks for reacting so positively - enednoviel's work is stunning isn't it? - I don't wonder you were drawn to it.

    (groan - that pun wasn't intended !)

  • No worries. You've shown what a class guy you are. Thanks so much for doing the right thing.

  • Thank you for adding the credit. That's all I ask. Cheers, mate!

  • Please credit the artist of those wonderful drawings. She deserves that much, that you would find them fantastic enough to include in your video tribute here. Thanks.

  • It's nice to see a fellow David Soul/Hutch fan. It's also nice to see someone who appreciates the work of the artist whose images you use in your vid. Her work is fantastic and you clearly agree - it would be nice therefore to see her given credit.

  • Nice collection of images to go with the song. But did you clear usage of those drawings with the artist? I know her, and she is a vidder herself. I hope you talked to her before including them in your work. She at least deserves a credit.

  • Umm...while I appreciate seeing Silver Lady anytime, anywhere, I do know that you're not the artist that drew those David Soul/Hutch pictures, nor do you give credit as to who did them, so...could you do that, please?

  • A very underrated classic! If Glen Campbell, for example, had covered this song it would have received more critical acclaim.Every adult male can identify with these lyrics - lost love? Recovered love? And a cracking melody too. Ace!

  • @Austin24468 fucking A man. i am so sick of self righteous pricks denagrating music from a time they don`t understand, was`nt no x. factor then .you were good or shit, but the charts sorted that out ...
