  • Glad to oblige! This is a two-day shape note singing convention, held yearly at the historic Harrod's Creek Baptist Church near Brownsboro KY. It is not a church congregation, but a gathering of people from many states, specifically to sing from three traditional shape note tunebooks. According to custom, anyone who wishes to lead registers, and when his/her name is called, picks a song and leads the group in singing it. Perhaps 70 or 80 songs are led/sung each of the two days of the convention.

  • great video. could anyone tell me where exactly was it filmed? and perhaps explain the style of congregational conducting? many thanks.
