One of the best supergroups ever! Their 2nd release, Backlash, was sadly overlooked. The chemistry was just unbelievably awesome! I can imagine Robin Zander joining Bad English for a song or two. Wow! That would be a killer vocal combination!

I had read that there were alot of personal issues boiling to the surface during the recording of the second Bad English album, to the point that the group wouldn't even record their tracks at the same time, and everything had to be mixed together later. They broke up pretty much before they had a chance to support the second album.

The 80's truly was a great time to be a teenager!!!! Fantastic music and movies. The songs resonated for what you were going through and feeling. Today's music just can't compare, not even close.
This was one of those great superstar bands that came out around this time.Damn Yankees was another one.Bad English was awesome.I'm still waiting to see John Waite perform this one when he does he solo tours.
i was 20 when this song came out i love all their songs but my boyfriend at the time was abusive not that bad didn't end up in the hospital but these songs remind me of that time. I'm happy I'm not with him. at one point he was following me all over when I broke up with him. when I was with friends & calling people. there is no other rock bands like the 80's
Neal's rain scene is hot, but John is just flat out sexy and no one can rock those white leather pants like him. I wish they made hot men like him nowadays.
@ aberrantube: Great question. I have an offering if not an answer. On Album Oriented Radio (AOR), "Forget Me Not" WAS the first release and WAS a fucking monster hit. There was HUGE buzz at the time because of the hybrid of Journey, The Babies and John Waite getting together. There are other great tracks on the album, like "Rocking Horse". But of course, the '80's demanded a power ballad, and with Cain penning the songs, inevitably When I See You Smile was digested by ALL radio. Sad.
If anyone ever figures out why "When I See You Smile" was BE's breakout hit rather than this, let me know. I've been trying to understand it for 20 years give or take a fast week, and I can't quite shake the feeling that if I knew that, I'd know a lot more about humans than I do after living as one for the last 40 years.

The few songs that were promoted were the ones that weren't written by them, and therefore didn't represent what a powerhouse they were. They got played on stations that catered to kids and teens when songs like this are more adult-oriented. All the evidence I have is what I remember playing at the time and what stations it played on. It was an incredible band.
