  • too blues legends this is fucking awesome and beautiful these old guys really make me cry there music touches and soothes my soul like know other sorry but blues is the best and original music you can argue classical was but there really wasn't any words this is the first music with solos singing phrasing symphony and rhythem just immaculate..

  • brilliant. rest in peace john cephas

  • WOW!!! BLOODY WOW!!! You can't often say a song is utterly irresistible but this one is!

  • it dont get no betta

  • R.I.P Bowling Green John Cephas. You are missed. I am not sure how many "Piedmont" players are let. This song, if you don't know, was written and performed by John Lee "Sonny Boy"

Williamson I. He was the original Sonny Boy as opposed to Rice Miller (Sonny Boy II)

  • @jleoblues Thanks for recognizing the original sonny boy williamson, I am from his hometown, and he has just one little marker on the side of the road. it is sad really

  • @WINDELLK I did not know that. I wonder if any of the Blues societies are aware of that. He died in Chicago from an ice pick stabbing (or so the story goes) We need to find a way to raise awareness and raise some money. You know Robert Johnson has three grave marking based upon rumor

  • @jleoblues I'm not sure about blues societies, but here locally(Jackson, Denmark Tn) they do a blues show here and there that they name after him

  • @jleoblues Hi. John Cephas was such a fine singer. (Phil is one of the greatest,on harp.) In this performance, the lyrics are mainly adapted from Memphis Minnie's song :

"Chauffeur's Blues',which used exactly the same tune. There are more verses taken from that ,than from Sonny's 'Schoolgirl'. All the best,Greg.

  • It's just downhome blues no schooling just natural

  • I saw Cephas and Wiggins about 20 years ago, in Australia.I still have the 'tape' they sold me that night. They really were 'THE BEST".I will not forget John Cephas.

  • Bless to John Cephas,!!!

  • Good bye, great master John Cephas. Will miss you a lot.

  • John cephas gone, what a loss.

  • RIP John Cephas

  • wow! that harp man is sick.

  • RIP John. You will be missed.

  • They are good musicians and some of the nicest people that I met.

  • These guys are great together. What a team! Keep it up gentlemen, it's music to our ears! Thank you...

  • While I do appreciate your comment and your wonderful attitude, you completely misused the "music to our ears" metaphor.

  • What the f*** is that sh!t supposed to mean?!

  • yer gonna have to calm down!

In your first comment you said them teaming up is like 'music to our ears' which is the incorrect usage of that phrase. IT IS music to our ears because IT IS music. 'Music to my ears' is used in order to express that something sounds good to you, as good as music, but in general it's usually not music.

    we cool? eh? high five.

  • The Real Thing,History of the Blues.Best of the Best category.Sounds sooooo good.

  • My son asked how to play harp like Phil Wiggins?I said start straight away, play all day every day,and hope to live a very long time.

  • what key Harp is that???? Not any of the ones I have....

  • Hey! The harp must be Key of E. John plays that song in B.

  • cant mess with the best

  • Florida and Virginia are two different places-- produces different kinds of musicians, I reckon!

  • Good lord! That's an awesome harp player.
