I don't get why people are saying 'george didn't play it like that' etc - for god's sake it's a cover version! The guy is not a george impersonator, he's covering the song and doing it really well! George actually did add that bit of rhythm in the verse when they played it live
The solo sounded great, and as for the fact there was no 12 string in the intro - do you expect him to be flicking round guitars, just because it might sound a bit truer to the record?FFS give the guy a break - top cover!
Scugs, no offense, but that isn't how George played it. He didn't do as much rhythm as you do. The rhythm was played by John (or maybe Paul) on acoustic guitar with just lead highlights on the chorus and of course, that great lead which you nailed pretty well.
@fliegeroh None taken, man. You're right. I know now that the rhythm was done on the 12 string Rickenbacker - at that time it was probably Harrison, along with doing the lead with the Country Gent.
Might have been John doing the 12 string.. Who knows?
you are dam good! did you get some good deals on your guitars thats quite an inventory let me give you some advice please have all serial # photos and apprasals
of your equipment and for god sake don't have them insured with allstate the'd give you $100.00 bucks true take my word insure, you are dam good! keep it up I'D like to hear bad boy!
Hi guys im not rich but i play guitar really well i have a copied version of a gretsh. any tips on how to give a cheap guitar that kind of sound he has on the video. thanks!
@Sk8Gibson60 niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice:) my dream setup. and where do you live, and planning to buy that guitar. ps got a g5120 and a vox pathfinder+ hofner bass:)
@TheColts99: No kidding... since George got one just like Chet Atkins! (GH was a big fan of Chets. BTW & FYI: Mr. Atkins was also a VP of RCA records and even worked with Gretsch designing several models, similar to the way Les Paul helped to design guitars for Gibson.) All 3 Beatles up front were also known to use Fenders, Rickenbackers, Gibsons and a few other brands. (Paul started out with a Hofner bass before switching to a Ric.) John used an Epiphone (Casino model) on their tune "Get Back".
nice dude! can you give tabs of this?

didnt george use the 12 string in the intro?
fguka 1 year ago
@fguka George used the RIckenbacker for the song, and the Country Gent just for the solo.
Figured the little solo would be more interesting than the rhythm.
